Re: Stay in your wheelhouse. Roth making jewelry? No.

Some of you people are so serious! Smiley Happy   Good grief.

I'm not picking on Peter Thomas Roth in particular.  Unlike some of the replies - I use his beauty products (love his masks!) and think his products are great.  He seems like a nice man.

I'm making a larger point that this seems (to me) to be a "thing" now at QVC where a known name suddenly makes products that are outside of their specialty or wheelhouse.  I think it's odd and feels like it's treating the customer like they are stupid.

I don't think ANY of them make any product. They might make a suggestion as to what they want on or in a product, but they DO NOT make anything, except an appearance on TV.  My very own personal OPINION.----tedEbear

Re: Stay in your wheelhouse. Roth making jewelry? No.

PTR can make mud pies for all I care.

Just who doesn't the o/p think they are to dictate exactly what a vendor can and can not do?

It is possible for a person to have more than one talent, and more than one interest at a time, you know.

Besides, PTR and others must be doing something right, seeing how much $ their companies make.

Re: Stay in your wheelhouse. Roth making jewelry? No.

Are you people for real?!

I'm not "dictating" anything.  I was only asking a question.  Of course people can have more than one talent/interest.

One of the things I really like about QVC is that I get a shopping experience unlike one I've ever had.  The experts in their field - CEO's of companies in some cases - will explain their products in detail.  It's educational and interesting.  I've learned a lot.  I just bought a second set of those micro-fiber floor pad things (they are amazing!).  The guy who sells those talked about how he was in the cleaning business for 30 years or something.  It was his expertise and I appreciated his knowledge (and his product).   If he slapped his name on a set of candles I wouldn't have much interest.

Judith Ripka has taught me a great deal about jewelry, stones etc. - she has devoted her life to that field and I appreciate listening to her. I adore her (and she and Rick together especially!).   I was just surprised that I saw her name on a pair of shoes.  I was surprised to see PTR selling jewelry.  That's it.  I wondered if anyone else had noticed the same thing.

What is with all the hostility?!    Good grief.  It was just a question.
