The propensity of the QVC camera work to focus on the hosts chewing and swallowing exaggerates the eating process, and that is why portion size is so important. Take small bites! No one wants to watch a host macerate a big bite of food. It's even worse when a host realizes how long it's taking so they start talking with a mouth still full of food rather than have dead air.
The only time I ever closely watched someone eating in real life is when I was feeding a toddler and had to worry about choking. Perhaps that is why the food fests with the exaggerated reactions are not my cup of tea. No host would spit something out and say yuck, so their reviews aren't authentic anyway.
