Signing in - Get booted out too much

I would like to stay on the boards all day once I sign in. I don't like getting kicked off so many times.  Sometimes I even get kicked off in the middle of posting.

I second that ! I get so tired of signing in and clicking twice every time I want to say a little something.

Wish they would fix it to where you sign in once a day , period.

Agree! I just signed in to check my orders; 30 seconds later I clicked on forums and had to sign in again! Ridiculous! At my email and on Amazon, etc., one signs in and must log off herself rather than the system doing it at random.

I made a request of @Eva-OVC over in Fashion blog in thread entitled

'Mod' as to whether she might help in this regard.

it seems that i get signed out if i am not active for maybe around 8 hours or so. i do have to sign in separately to access my  orders, but that is a good thing.....for security reasons.

to the other posters who seem to get signed out frequently, it helps to say what type of device you are using and also the browser you are using, if possible. the mods can then transfer the information to the IT department.

Re: Signing in - Get booted out too much

I have to sign in throughout the day (and if I sign in to go on the forums, for example, and then decide to check on my wish list, I need to sign in again: tedious). I wish there were an option to "stay signed in."

 @ Montana@SharkE@Zita@insomniac,

First, remember that the shopping website (has more security in place) and the Community forums (less security, since you don't use your financial data here) are actually separate from the shopping site.

So, think of them as 2 different websites.   That's the reason you'll see the need to sign in more than once when you go between the 2.

As @sunshine45, it helps so much to troubleshoot a problem if we know the device and browser you use (also the version of the operating system and browser software).

I sign in once for the day, on the forums, and don't have to log in again for several hours.   The shopping area doesn't allow the login to be active for as long, but again that's because it has access to your financial information.

This is with a Mac (OS X 10.11.3), with Firefox (v. 44.0)  or Chrome (v.  47.0.2564.82) browsers.   Also, I have no problems with my iPad 3 or iPhone 5 (iOS 9.2.1) using the standard mobile Safari browser, full "desktop" version.

It also is important to frequently clear cookies/cache/website data, then close and relaunch the browser, especially if you see problems show up.

When you do need to sign back in, if you'll set your browser to remember your login info, all you have to do is click once or twice and it fills it in for you.

Since this only happens to some people, and not all, it's more a problem with the way the sites interact with your specific device and software.

I know it's frustrating, but if we have more information maybe one of us can help.Smiley

Re: Signing in - Get booted out too much

Google Chrome remembers me every where else but here . I mean the username and password is remembered here, but, you have to click first on the username line, then, when the password pops in , click on sign in again.
