I live in an area where the Post Office has had a 100% change in staff.  They will not look for a box affiliated with a street address or vice versa any longer.

Recently an item I ordered was returned because of the above.  I used my physical address for this item to be shipped to.  Because I live in an area where the USPS does not deliver to home or physical addresses, the item was returned "insufficient address".

My suggestion / request is:  Please indicate QVC's shipping method for each item.  If I'd known that QVC would be shipping it via UPS SurePost® I would have used the correct address so the delivery could be completed successfully.

Thank you for your consideration.

UPS Just notified me of yet another package returned for the same reason as below.  Its very annoying.

What are my options?

I'm a member of the UPS app.  It doesn't show which method of shipping is being used so I am unable to correct it in transit.

Sounds like you need a PO Box?  Or is that even an option in your area?

I hate the way both channels ship.

Send it to ups or to the post office not both.

Pick One!

I have an order processing at ups for 3 days and next week it will probably go to the post office to be processed. It might even go back to ups after that!

If there no delivery to a home/physical address, then that addesss is never to be used for USPS services.  At all.

I have this and am always required to take a trip down to the post office.  So my "address" is always, and only, a USPS box.

ETA:  USPS will not accept FedEx or UPS to a PO Box address.  Gotcha!

I am also in a years long battle to actually get a physical address.  So many old pre-statehood claims, private logging roads and easements.

Yep, we are a bind.  Have to use a friend's street address or rent a "box" at a UPS store which will accept all packages.  This requires yet a different address 🤣

I'm kind of thinking they will no longer do this. At one time they did allow you to choose between USPS and UPS, and maybe next day air? I can't remember exactly. It was nice to have the option, although one was always higher priced than the other.

Sounds to me like you will have to get yourself a Box which accepts parcels. Due to the contracts these online retailers have with shipping partners, I don't anticipate having shipping options to choose from.

If @tahoe gal  does get a P.O Box, I believe she would have to give the address of the Post Office as her physical address along with the box number otherwise they will not accept just the PO box.

Re: Shipping method

@tahoe gal - If I'm reading your post correctly, it sounds like the main problem is when packages start off as UPS deliveries that would go to the physical address you provided, but they sometimes get transferred via UPS SurePost to be handled by the USPS, which would only work if your PO box address was included.

If this is the case, one thing you can do to help ease the problem is sign up for UPS MyChoice Premium. This service costs just $19.99 per year and allows you to set up your address/account to specify that any package that would have been transferred to the USPS through SurePost will instead stay with UPS for the whole delivery cycle. On rare occasions, a package may slip through, but the vast majority of deliveries will come via UPS. I've been using this service for four years now and love it—packages come more quickly and are much easier to track. (There are a few other perks to this service that you can read online, or feel free to ask me about them.)

One note: This service will not help with deliveries via UPS Mail Innovations; items sent through that service will always be transferred to the USPS for final delivery. So if you are ordering jewelry, accessories, or lightweight clothing (or likely any single item of clothing), I suggest you always list your PO box address because more than 90% of those orders will be sent using UPS Mail Innovations.

Good luck!

ETA: I just noticed that you said you're a "member of the UPS app." If so, that means you are likely already a standard UPS MyChoice member, which means you should be able to see the shipping class for your packages—just click the "View Details" link associated with the tracking number and check the "Service" section.
