QVC's shipping prices are over the top looked at 2 jackets and shipping

charges were $10.72. You would do better to add $11.00 to the price

of the jackets and give free shipping. Then us woman think we are

getting a deal!!!!

That's great logic but it did work with the food items. It's not free shipping if it's added to the regular price!! How does it change anything? I will buy what I really want no matter if the shipping is added to the cost and it is listed a free shipping or there is a shipping harge - not getting a bargain either way though. Some would buy into it though as long as it said free shipping.

OP is saying exactly what I've believed for years. Retailers rely on consumers' desire to think they're getting a deal, so they offer "free" shipping. It's never free; someone has to pay!

That gimmick reminds me of an appliance chain that used to be in my neighborhood. They advertised you could get your money back plus $10 if you found a better deal elsewhere. You couldn't ever collect because they had their own item numbers, often one letter or number different from the same model sold elsewhere. That chain went out of business years ago - as I remember there were some other shady things going on, too.

What I buy from QVC is like that - I buy items from them not available elsewhere as long as I'm willing and able to pay their TOTAL price which as far as I'm concerned always included shipping. (They don't control the sales tax, so I don't count that; where I live, there's hardly ever shipping that has no sales tax anyway.)

Sometimes QVC total price even on things sold elsewhere is lower than I can get elsewhere and I buy. But most of what I buy from QVC is only QVC and that's okay. For example, I prefer to shop locally for clothing, but I buy Susan G because absolutely no one locally matches her quality at any reasonable price. Same with lots of TSV skincare kits - they're better than elsewhere unless you want different products. That isn't my kind of bargain though. I want what I want. I've become a teenager in my old age!
