Screening of Product Reviews

I was checking the reviews for a Northern Nights comforter I recently purchased and was astounded that a couple of the reviews for the item were so slanted.  One in particular made it clear that she opposed using down because of cruelty to animals. There was no review of the actual item.  I was shocked to see that this was actually posted as a review.  .I thought it to be inappropriate and certainly should not have been posted as a review.   How this ever happened is beyond me.  I thought QVC screened the content of reviews and this one in particular slammed QVC and their own product directly.  It's simple:  if you don't like an item, don't buy it and above all, keep your personal opinions to yourself.

No, they don't screen the reviews, I've reported many who gave bad reviews not on the product itself, but delivery issues, etc., yet the bad reviews remained.

Unfortunately, QVC's reviews are poorly screened and many are truly not reviews of a product and are clearly inappropriate.  We've complained incessantly to no avail.  You just have to weed through them and pick out the ones that seem sensible.

Re: Screening of Product Reviews

Thanks for reading my post and for your responses.  I always check the reviews before I order an item if they are available.  Yes, there are valid negative reviews and I have posted a couple (over the course of the past 7 years) as well.  I have found the reviews to be very helpful in making a decision as to buy or not and many of my own reviews have been received well. I try to be as honest as I can and also include helpful hints after using the product I am reviewing for others to take advantage of.  I have bought many expensive items offered by QVC and overall, have not had any problems with any that I have bought.  I take the time to review the videos several times in order to understand everything I can about the product I am considering and also go to UTube to see other people's experiences and get tips from them. I also respond to questions when I am familiar with the item.  I read the manuals that come with the product and also register all of my purchases with the manufacturer to ensure that I get the best support that I can.

Thanks, again.

I just ignore the odd reviews.  It's not worth letting a stranger's comments bother me.

Re: Screening of Product Reviews

Many people confuse "stating an opinion" with "writing a review".

Still waiting for my review of the Q's TSV Jockey Bras to go through. That review was submitted on Sept.18th!  But I do agree, why reviews that aren't really reviews get through is a wonder. Save your opinions for the forums. It was this way before the pandemic so using that as an excuse doesn't fly. Probably just not caring about it by TPTB.
