I rarely watch anymore. And yesterday just confirmed why i don't watch.
The vendor and the host were both talking at the same time. I am not talking a sentence and then one realised that they were both talking at the same time. It was sentences. It seemed like it was a competition and each one was determined to win.
I had no idea what either one was saying. It was just lots of noise. So I moved on to another channel. It will take me many months before I try and watch again.

When you are talking to someone in person...one on one...you can understand what is being said. When you are in tv land trying to listen to that one on one it all gets jumbled together! It is impossible to understand. Not sure what nobody at QVC realizes how hard it is for the audience. I guess they do not read our comments! Or maybe they just hope you like the product enough to buy in spite of all of the noise.

Producers are in their ears telling hosts what to say and when to say it. Q doesn't care about interruptions and it won't change.
I rarely watch. I may check out recently-on-air or something in particular online but that's about it. The constant repetition, host antics, personal stories, silly chit chat, and such, aren't my thing.

@Chef Susan J wrote:I've been keeping my opinions to myself for a long time, but today I just couldn't do it any longer. My husband will usually sit and watch QVC with me, but one night he asked if I would please, change the channel because he was about to throw something through the television. He said that he couldn't listen to the host (Sandra Bennett) interrupting any more. Today, I just had to turn the TV off. I kept waiting for Bret to ask her why he was even there. She's not the only one, by far. I really wish QVC would coach the hosts on manners and professionalism. I don't even watch Saturday Morning Q, any more. I refuse to watch anything with Shawn in it. She exaggerates the difference in the regular price "with shipping and tax" with the sale price. As if you won't have to pay for shipping and tax when it's on sale. And I'm not talking about free shipping events.
Shawn is not on Saturday mornings.
Maybe you are thinking of Alberti.

I wonder if some hosts don't realize they are doing it. Maybe listening to a playback would be helpful.

All of us have had to do things in our work, that we didn't like either. My work would often feel like a performance. It could be exhausting, too. So, I try not to judge others out there making a living. With all jobs, pressure behind the scenes is often not very pleasant.
Have you EVER watched Courtney in any presentation? She is quiet the whole time a vendor is speaking about their product. She doesn't interrupt. And her sales are high. So, no. I don't think the hosts are told to talk non-stop.

ITA @snipsnapsnur! I find Courtney to be the most professional and is pleasant to watch. No trying too hard by being silly and overacting.

There was a thread last night that got poofed, but it was about Shawn's rudeness last night on Shawn saves Christmas. She was selling a lighted hand held magnifier and she took it over to Chelsea and began examining her face with it. Which is not cool to begin with, it's called personal space. But then she told her to smile, and started examining her teeth. She then said very seriously, "you have some serious plaque going on." She walked away with a stunned Chelsea who said, "are you serious?" to which she replied straight faced, "yes." I felt so bad for Chelsea too be embarrased like that on live TV. I have always liked Shawn, but she's become out of control and not fun to watch anymore. I think it's due to everyone fawning over her ad nauseam, to include other hosts and vendors. What she did was rude and so wrong. Chelsea even made a joke about her needing to apologize. Chelsea is so sweet and is nothing but nice to Shawn and this is what she gets for it. It was awful.

@KittySoftPaws I saw that incident last night. It was cringeworthy. If someone came up to me with a magnifying glass the way Shawn did, I'd push them away. I have to say I think that is the rudest I've ever seen Shawn be. In what world does she think that is acceptable behavior?

@KittySoftPaws Wow! I saw that the thread had been deleted and never watch Shawn. I think both she and JT should be fired but I'm convinced they have some hold on the PTB that makes them immune. Two unprofessional, obnoxious hosts. This will be poofed!
