SAGING FOR SPIRITS

HAS ANYONE SAGED A HOUSE FOR SPIRITS? For some time now iwe've had ghostly visiors in our house. They come and go.....never the same person twice. It is very unnerving. Mostly occurs in our bedroom (master) and the long hallway directly beneath. Awakened the other day and there was an elderly woman alongside of me in a hospital bed. She looked at me, I looked at her and she disappeared. What is that!!!! So my daughter suggested saging the house. We ordered several sage kits and are about to sage. Hope it works. This is unnerving.

@Venezia My house is 40 yrs old. We're the first owners. We live close to a hospital and my daughter thinks that may be the cause.

@STYLE - Well, I've never heard of that before. Houses that are a hundred years old (or more), yes, where there have been a lot of previous occupants. I don't think spirits travel to another building like that, with which they have no association. (Unless something else was built on that ground before.)

That problem seems a little beyond the scope of saging but I'm no expert.

You seem a little nonchalant about it, are you used to it or just comfortable around ghosts? (I never thought I'd ask such a question, haha)

I have heard of saging a property. It's called smudging, and a couple of different dried vegetations or herbs are used depending on the reason you're using it.

I think to rid a home you attempt to wave the herb and empty it out the door of each room. After going through the entire home, to include attic and garage, you eventually open a door or window push it outside.

I don't know if you are religious, but you may want to consider having your house blessed.

@STYLE OMG, is this for real? Seriously. If that happened to me I would be out of my house and not return. I would not be calm, I definitely would be freaking out, way beyond thinking to "Sage for Spirits". There would be a For Sale sign on my front yard in no time.

For YEARS, I have thought that I might be on an ancient burial ground. BUT, I have never had anything "unfriendly" happen...

My Naturopath's office has a small retail shop that carries a smudge kit that includes sage bundles. Very popular practice for New Year's. They also sell a sage spray.

I would get guidance on the practice. You can also have your home and property blessed by clergy.

There is also the practice of spreading blessed salt. I used this when I bought a vacant parcel of land.
