Ok, I may be nit picking, but I do not appreciate multiple shipping fees tacked on to my rather large multi piece jewelry purchase on the same date. For example, if I want to order a Barbara Bixby suite, I don't expect to pay $15 for S & H on the $1200 purchase. It just doesn't sit well with me.

So, unfortunately for the Q and even if I regret it, I am placing the order in Saved status to mull over.

Please consider implementing a maximum per day fair fee for S & H for the jewelry category. By the way, the Q could really use innovative marketing wizards.

I rarely shop with the Q because of their S&H.  They just don't get it.

If QVC had free shipping on everything or a maximum shipping charge per day, the prices would go up to make up the difference.  I am sure QVC tries to maintain a certain percent of profit.

Consider too that multiple orders on the same day may not all ship at the same time, and could be shipping from different places.

I am sure that QVC makes money on shipping overall -- there and back.  But it certainly does cost them something to ship.  And remember this is not just the shipping charge, but the "handling" as well, which could include paying for all the people in their warehouses.

Always remember that you are absolutely unique. Just like everyone else. Margaret Mead

So the OP has no problem spending more than $1,200 on something frivolous (jewelry is hardly a necessity) but finds spending $15 for someone to pack the items, ship it, and insure it on its journey from one of the of the country to the other to be too much?  Seriously?

Ah ha ha ha ha ha ha!

@KYToby, your posts always give me a good laugh one way or the other. I know SO many people who would say just what you write.

Maybe they pretty much keep it within the family, but they would definately word it just like that!

not  a necessity but jewelry like everything else is part of the economy providing jobs for people.

If we just cut out those things that are necessary it would be a rather dull life I think

At that price the s/h can be provided by the seller.

Re: S & H Policy

[ Edited ]

@deedledeedeedle  @  While you mull over the Q's shipping costs,  please consider this.   Evine charges at least $6.99 per piece of moderately priced jewelry,  then they ship your entire order in one padded envelope theslowest possible way.   So,  I ordered 3 rings @$6.99/each;  that's almost $21., to ship them in one envelope and they were all well under $150.  My EDD was a full 10 days from the ship date.

Makes your Q purchase sound like a bargain.

@KYToby The original poster makes total sense, and I hope QVC listens. In marketing, everyone today knows that waiving s/h fees on larger purchases encourages more sales and keeps the customer happy. If OP were in my jewelry store, there's no way on earth I'd nickle and dime her for $15. She'd get a free jewelry cleaner and polishing cloth too! Look at all the major highend department stores online. On average, free shipping starts at $50-99 for most. QVC can afford to pay their employees out of their profits on the products -- I doubt OP was suggesting free s/h should mean employees wouldn't get paid. Smiley Happy
