@sissy01 This is a PRIME sales tactic Q has been using more and more as the economy is becoming hard pressed for customers.
It's similar to all these kids now who are in hock up to their eyeballs using Klarna and the "buy now, pay later" features offered by big retailers.
Since breaking purchases into smaller payments has become extremely popular the last 3 years; Q is stating the easy pay option more and more in their presentations.
Got to admit it though, Q was way ahead of the curve when it came to breaking down purchases into 3, 4 or even 5 payments: Most big name retailers are doing it now also.
It's obviously a pay system that is working...although I know that Klarna is suffering huge losses because the younger folks aren't paying off their purchases.
Times are tough, and people like Easy pay options - and Q started that trend way before all the others.

While I agree, retailers always come up with gimmicks and schtick to get people to buy.
Customers have a responsiblity to know how much something costs before they buy.
Customers have to be smarter everywhere.
If someone can't multiply 5x37 in their head, they need to use a calculator or look at the corner of tv/device screen where it's shown, in the cart, and the grand total before clicking to buy.

Don't forget the 39 dollars and change???
The cents whatever it is is committed like not part of the price. Anything to look less expensive.

Hey, I meant to write this the other day....I think most everyone understood what you were saying. Your post was clear to me and others, so no worries there.![]()

I agree this way of selling/pricing has become main stream in the last few years. Anyone that can afford to use some method of payment system instead of full price is doing it. Even smaller retailers and especially those that sell higher priced items. The payment is usually easily visible on their websites, but the number of payments and full price is often harder to see/find.
And like not mentioning the shipping and tax. "You can get this home for $15." No, you can get it home for $15 for the first payment, plus the shipping cost and whatever your local tax is.
It's not that this idea has come about recently. Products have been priced in .98/.99 for years--$39.99 instead of $40.00. And gasoline with the .9--$3.99.9 per gallon instead of $4.00 per gallon.
Technically the way they do it is all legal. Might be shady, but it's legal and that's all that counts.
It's supposed to be psychological, and it often works. Because if it didn't, retailers wouldn't do it.

Many of the hosts do this. Not just Alberti or Rachel. Sandra Bennett, Teri Conn and her infamous "get this home for a charge on the card of $___", Chelsea, etc. Practically all of the hosts do this so I firmly believe this is coming from TPTB.

It's so obviously a sales tactic I don't know why it's an issue!😄😄😄

Don't forget Amy who just rounds up and says i like to round up but she aslo oversells a $3 price cut as a great sale

I've been temporarily watching a temporary TV; a small one.
So, I have to actually 'get up' and find the price.
Better for the hosts to frequently tell us the complete price.
My dear mom and dad and various seniors would have had a difficult time trying to see the prices. Some would have to find and use their eyeglasses, etc.
I'm including myself.
