QVC-please train the hosts to understand what an RFID chip is. I jjst heard Rachel B say that the new chips where you have to slide your card into the machine is an RFID ..and It is not. I have that type of chip card, and it is not RFID. RFID cards are the ones you can wave in the air to make a purchase.

What is it then?  Because from what I've been reading, they are called that.

They are both chips, but one is an RFID chip and one is not. The RF stands for radio frequency and it sends a signal that can be picked up by other devices. The gold chip on the outside of the card is not an RF chip and does not send a signal out to be picked up by a scanner.

You have to wave them next to a terminal. You cannot just wave them around in the kitchen or the living room and have things show up.
