grocery......

walmart pickup does not provide physical receipt.   they send email with what was picked up.

i put my groceries away then i review the pickup list.  since i touch every item when putting it away, i know what was picked up.

i then pull up my pick up list and review line by line.

last week, i found they charged me for a sub item instead of the ordered item price.

i called wm customer service and they reviewed the transaction and immediately refunded me.

simply no need for a physical reciept piece of paper

welcome to 2022

When these big box stores quit using plastic bags for groceries, I will believe that the elimination of paper receipts is truly their valiant effort to "save the planet" vice just cutting the store's costs. We are already having to check ourselves out! What will be cut next? Customer Service is at an all time low and becoming almost non-existent.

bring your own bags....

dang, doing the right thing is not that hard

waiting for them to make it mandatory is lame

@TheMemphisVette Where in my post did I say that I don't bring my own bags? I always do. I was merely stating the obvious: stores do still use plastic bags. Thanks for the lecture anyway.

@TheMemphisVette There is a lot of misunderstanding on blogs, because people assume too much in an attempt to be argumentative and condescending. I do not intend to be either. Have a good evening.

Re: RETURN LABELS A MUST QVC.

Following the "logic" that return labels generate extra paper waste, why not ban mail and internet orders and save all that box waste?  Then we would go back to retail stores and use more gas.

@depglass I love your comment! There are trade offs in life. That concept is lost by many individuals. Conservation efforts need to always be tempered by common sense.

as promised i made a list of excuses.   i'm only providing 15.   feel free to use any you need.

keep in mind,  some may not be applicable to you

top 10 reasons I need to receive paper docs /labels and don't consider it a waste

1.  i might need to return the item ( return percents vary by product and company it's less than 10%)
2.  i don't have a printer (70% of homes have printers)
3.  i don't want to hand write a shipping label I might need
4.  i want to stock pile receipts and labels in case I need to read them later(paper hoarding is a thing)
5.  eliminating these is a cost reducing effort by the business which I consider to be bad service
6. reducing these results in loss of jobs creating the paper , ink
7.  businesses waste on other things so they might as well waste with this
8.  eliminating this waste is small, other things waste more
9.  other people waste
10.  reducing waste results in job loss for those who deal with the waste
11.  I will win the radio contest for a new toaster by producing a receipt from 1983
12.  I will have plenty of paper to start a fire when the electric goes out
13.  I will have plenty of paper when I get time to take a paper mache class
14.  the piles of paper help insulate my house
15.  it's my decision to waste and it's not against the law

Re: RETURN LABELS A MUST QVC.

@TheMemphisVette   I needed a good laugh right now so thanks for this.  I really like #11 as winning a radio contest is up there on my list of things to do.
