Re: Questions About the Community?

>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>

After I hit submit post, it would be nice to either go back to the thread (w/my post showing) or to go back to the previous page automatically...ie, if I post on a thread in the fashion forum, hit submit, I'd like to go back to the fashion forum topic list.

Sometimes, the community menu is on the left side od screen, sometimes it's on the right...PICK A SIDE PLEASE!  I prefer left.

Re: Questions About the Community?

I haven't read the posts so this may have previously been addressed.

I am using Internet Explorer and this is what I have found:

There are no breadcrumbs.

My reply box does not have three gray dots to click on.

My reply box does not have a tool bar. Instead I see Font Family and Font sizes only. There is no capital A for me to change font colors.

The screen keeps jumping around when I am replying.

So is the forum not completely compatible with IE?

Re: Questions About the Community?

I noticed in one of the forums someone had a spoiler imbedded in the post.  Where can I locate how to perform that function.

Thanks in advance.

Please Post soup-to-nuts instructions on "Posting 101"

Everything I had figured out before is now obsolete!  Are we supposed to be using Rich Text?  If so, what is all of the funky striped area for???  Under HTML it is much simpler, but there are no options and your post comes out really tiny!  How are we supposed to set our preferences when there is no example of what the various layouts look like???  We are asked to choose what set of emoticons we want, but we can't preview them to see what they look like!

Half the time we can't follow the "breadcrumbs" back because the "SHOP BY CATEGORY" drop-down comes down in the way and won't go away!

Where are you seeing that we can choose which set of emoticons we want?  I don't see that anywhere, and the only emoticons I have are difficult to see & not anything I would want to use.  So I would love to be able to change them. (Not my biggest issue, but I'm curious.))

And yes, I'm having the drop-down problem too.  I'm tired of fighting with it.  This is frustrating enough without a glitch like that also.  Just frustrating all the way around.

Getting rid of the "My Activity" feature may very well be the dealbreaker for me.  And I'm annoyed that I can't change my email address.

What were they thinking?  They should have had actual forum users try this out first.

Helen, when you write a post, there's a bar across the top (font, size, emoticons, etc).  The spoiler tag is the 5th one in from the left side.  Hover over it, and it should say "Insert a spoiler tag".

At least it's there for me!  But after reading some of these posts tonight, it seems to me that lots of people are having different experiences with all kinds of things.

Re: Questions About the Community?

I mentioned this earlier, Windows Internet Explorer doesn't format correctly. You must download Google Chrome.

Big mistep on the programming side.  Was the programmer a TSV because he isn't worth full price because his work isn't too impressive.  You should have held back with this going live.

Re: Questions About the Community?

1.  Where are the recent discussions in "Garden?"  Why did you find it necessary to poof them back to April?

2.  I'm now starting to count screen shifts.  Since I started tp type in this box, my screen has shifted 4 times.  Never experienced this before.

3.  This site is a mess.  It is by far the worst excuse for a site that I have ever seen in 35 years.  USER UNFRIENDLY IS AN UNDERSTATEMENT.

4.  You must realize that by alienating forum members and shoppers you are losing customers, as sales are made by participation on the forums.

5.  The end user always knows best.  What did your software team do to determine what the end user wanted/needed IF ANYTHING???  The way I see if, if it ain't broke, don't fix it.  And you know what, the previous forum site wasn't broken!  You needed to buff up your security, but not this trash that's been laid down.

6.  What I see on my screen today is very much like an entry level program coded for a small business in the EARLY 80S - NOT NOW!

7.  If I were with QVC, I'd be handing walking papers to the head of IT/Software Development - the person who signed off on this joke and actually budgeted funds to fuel this debacle.

Kind regards,

A shopper since 1989, Forum member since 2005

This is horrible! Words over words, not a clean page at all. Bet someone got paid a lot of $ to create this mess!

Re: Questions About the Community?

I tried to post a reply to you earlier and not all of my thoughts appear. Trying again. Thank you for your candid comments & I totally agree with you and others.
