QVC is no longer on my cable lineup...what has happened???

As of 2 days ago a banner came across my QVC channel telling me that the signal was not going to be availabe anymore.  Now I can't see QVC or QVC2, not even availabe in my hi-def channel lineup.  How can they cut off customers from seeing the products and still continue to make a profit.  My cable company knows nothing about this, so it has to be a QVC decision but no one I call knows anything about it.  Guess I will be saving a lot of money now.  This happened in Cedar Rapids, Iowa

Don't cable providers enter into contracts with the channels they provide?

@KathyIowa

Well that is odd.  I am surprised your cable company would not know about this.

It may not be exactly what you want, but you could watch QVC online on your computer or other device.

With your remote...........go to "start up"........and re-scan your channels.

@KathyIowa   I'm curious.  Do you have Comcast or Cox as your cable connection?  They should be able to tell you what the  story is, although sometimes it depends on who you reach at their headquarters when you phone.

One Comcast representative I phoned insisted that CSPAN only had two channels although there are three, because I  had watched CSPAN 3 at someone else's home who also was a Comcast customer.  Could not win.  Had to  hang up and phone again to reach an employee who did have the correct information.

Your cable provider should have an online list of all their available channnels.  Has your contract with them expired  recently?  If it has, the channels available to you can  change and  some  will disappear from your personal lineup.

Typically with Comcast there is a two year contract, in my experience.

At the bottom left hand side of QVC's online program guide, by the way, there is a spot where you can type in your zip code and find out on which regular and  high definition channel your cable company carries QVC.

Please let us know what you find out.

If worse comes to worse, you can get all the Q and HSN channels on a Roku device.  Once you buy the Roku, there's no charge.

We dropped a level of cable because the movies they offered were SO old.  Q was part of what I lost.  Haven't missed it at all.

I can see what has just been offered and order on the computer or my phone if need be.
