Please remove the subscribe to poster feature. It causes problems with harassment and other posters following people around much more easily by using a RSS feed. It is a scary option and leads to easy access for stalking several posters with little effort on their part.
It is not the same as clicking on a person's profile, as that only shows snippets of their posts and you have to click on the post itself to read it. This is an RSS feed and displays everything that a poster has written, no matter what forum.
I posted this earlier and it seems it got removed - as the last response I know of is someone who has harassed me in the past and seems to be stalking me.
thank you

I would like to support this suggestion.
I've been thinking about it since seeing this thread, and I can't see a good reason for us to have the ability to subscribe to another poster's activity, particularly in real time. It's easy enough to look at their history if we want/need to find a thread or poster we've been keeping up with.
My concern is the climate of negativity I've seen on the forums. Especially recently. I've seen what looks like stalking, and certainly plenty of "new" nicknames that appear to know posters' histories and appear to follow them around. I hate to think nefarious activities are involved, but it certainly looks that way in some cases.
Perhaps other posters will add to this discussion, since I realize there might be some good, positive reasons to keep this subscription option available.
Thanks for posting this, biancardi, and I'm so sorry to see what's been happening.

If they do take this good suggestion and end this feature I'll be shocked. They don't seem to care what we think. And that's a real problem IMO.

You said it well, Deb1010again. The only chance they might listen is if several customers ask them to remove the feature. I have no idea if they even read here, but I think I'll submit my comments to them via email in the Customer Service "Contact Us."

Maybe if there were a feature where a poster would have to approve such a request then it would be fine but that's not going to happen here.

I think that's a good suggestion, Pook.

an RSS feed is a real time push to your browser. If you subscribe to a feed, and it is in rss, you just need to have the url in one of your browsers. the browser will monitor the site and will update the feed to your browser.

I posted on the other thread, and commented I thought the "subscribe to this thread" feature (different from the "subscribe to a poster's activity" feature) was often abused as well. I think I was the last person to post on that thread, and saw a couple of days later that the thread had been poofed. Is my post the last response you are referring to? I didn't see any other posts after mine, but I didn't check the thread afterwards.
