I doubt Q would implement try-before-you-buy. It's just not their practice to offer such benefits to customers. They're already in financial struggles too.
I also learned the hard way. I haven't bought clothes from Q in many many years. I can find everything I want for less elsewhere - and 99% of the time without paying shipping. Many retailers still don't charge return shipping.

I quit shopping at Q unfortunately years ago because of getting defective, cheap products and having to return.
Wish manufacturing would come back to the states. It doesn't have to cost more.

@CHRISSIE wrote:I am spending a fortune on return postage charges. Buying certain lines of clothing from QVC is a crapshoot. Sizing of clothing items, even the same item of clothing purchased in different colors, is much too often inconsistent. This makes following the sizing specification chart useless.
When this happens, the customer is penalized for the lack of quality control by paying a high return charge for a product which actually is defective. QVC does not recognize the different sizing issue as a reason for not deducting the postage charge from the credit given for the item returned. This is expensive and not fair! I am sure QVC has lost many customers over this issue.
If QVC would initiate a "Try before you buy." program i.e. Amazon for the lines of clothing especially Denim & Co, where these inconsistencies most often occur, it would be a God send. If you agree with me, please pass on my suggestion and let QVC know that you would like to try before you buy. Thanks.
TBH I don't the Q has the tech support or desire to offer a try before you buy option,
the website is basic at best
ebay/posh have tons of Q stuff at better prices

Don't understand how it could not cost more. The wages in the US are not comparable to the factories overseas.
Would we be willing to pay the difference is the question.
Prices are so high on everything...everyone complains that the clothing is too high as it is.
US workers are not going to produce garments for the wages those countries do.

@Wsmom, it's not that difficult if you are a prime member at Amazon. You purchase the clothing items you want in the size you think will fit. If it doesn't fit you return it within 7 days and you are not charged.
@Parischic ,I have seen that with Amazon. Amazon is always free shipping to begin with though. Well usually. I can't imagine how high the prices would be with QVC if they started that. Everybody would absorb all those fees they are no longer receiving.

It would cost more because factories would have to be renovated and machinery replaced. These buildings have been sitting vacant for decades. They have been vandalized and are decaying.
How many Americans workers want to be hunched over a sewing machine or ironing board for eight or ten hours a day?

Four inches off to a small person is much more meaningful than four inches to a larger person. I'm a 1X and frequently end up in an XL or a 2X depending on availability. Today's loose styles also help.

I don't usually have a sizing problem with QVC clothing. I, too always check the garment measurements and reviews if there are any. My returns are usually the item doesn't look good on me or the fabric is awful. Alot of their items are cheesy and that I don't like because their prices are high.
I live in the East and if you have a Boscov's near you, you should check it out. Cannot tell you how many times I have seen and or purchased an item from them of which I purchased from QVC something that is so similar in style and manufacturing and at a fraction of the cost. And they have great end of season sales. This past Sept/Oct I bought several summer clearance items for $6.99. Brand names and first quality.
Unfortunately, I still indulge myself in QVC.

I wonder if OP is willing to pay a $100+/year subscription to QVC for that program?
