QVC, Please do more to promote your adaptive and accessible line and items for special needs

[ Edited ]

QVC, Please do more to promote your adaptive and accessible line and items for special needs. Kudos for carrying all the great range of products, but there's not enough promotion of your items. Many shoppers aren't even aware they are available.

Let shoppers know. Put some banner on the home page that the items are here and how customers can see them.

Do whatever it takes. Have some Q+ programming with some items. Let show hosts mention the availability and how items can be seen. THE ITEMS WILL NEVER SELL IF NO ONE KNOWS THEY ARE THERE.

You can see all the items by looking on the main page. Open the drop down menu on the top left of the screen and look for Adaptive and Accessible. They have adaptive clothing, shower chairs, over bed tables like you see in hospitals, raised toilet seats, hearing help, vision help, bed rails, stand up from seated helpers, soap cloths for bathing in bed, walkers, wheel chairs, reachers, shoes, socks, plates and utensils, tools and so much more. If you are a caregiver or have special needs check it out. Remember that Easy Pay can help people afford to order for items at a time and pay them off.

Q also carries a lift chair but you won't see it in

with these products. Q should add the lift chair they carry in under the Furniture heading in the Adaptive and Accessible menu.

@Mindy D   QVC is trying its darnest to appeal to a younger audience.  Perhaps they want to downplay themselves a a medical supply provider.  They already have the image of being for "old people".

@Mindy D There are probably 100s of places to purchase these items online.

I wouldn't rely on Q as a source for these things.

A simple internet search will bring up loads of other vendors.

I think that's a good idea @Mindy D as long as it happens quietly.  QVC may be trying to appeal to younger shoppers who have aging parents and grandparent's that may appreciate having a Q option.

There are so many sites that offer tee shirts but people buy at the Q.  Give options, some will buy

Other then the place where all good little Vionics go die, that site is a sick joke.

See any electric jar (not can) openers?  Nope.

Front closing bra selection?  Shirts to get on without moving a shoulder?

There is a "Disability Pride" banner currently on the home page that directs you to their products. As a disabled person, I find "disability pride" to be a very odd phrase. Perhaps they are jumping off the June Pride month idea. However, no one is "proud" to be disabled. We are proud of how we manage our lives despite our disabilities maybe, but proud of our disabilities, no. Find another phrase to hawk your wares, QVC.

Some, but not all of the items listed on QVC would be covered by health insurance, but it would have to be purchased at a Medical Equiptment company.

Other items could be covered by a persons HSA  or FSA plan. They might need to purchase these items from certain providers to I get them covered.

It's nice that QVC offers these items, but they could be avaliable elsewhere for little to no out of pocket payments.

Handicapped and disabled people come in all age groups. It is not only the elderly that need the items mentioned here. Perhaps you have not noticed.
I have not noticed this shopping outlet catering to younger people, especially with clothing. Here we are well into July and they are still selling long sleeve tops and sweaters. Many of their summer tops have sleeves that go to the elbow so as not to show flabby upper arms. That is not catering to younger people.

@ellietoo

Elbow sleeves don't just cover flabby arms, they cover tattoos too.

Tattoos are VERY popular with the younger generation.

I wear them for the same reason, to cover my tattoos if I don't want them to show, on rare occasions and I'll soon be 70.

I have quite a few tats, but you'd never see them unless I want you too. My last was at 65 when my brother passed away, I had his name tattooed on my inner wrist, in delicate cursive. We were very very close, talked by phone everyday, he in CA, me in GA.

I think QVC has been in this business long enough to know to try to cater to both generations. But not that smart in other things with their business!

They certainly seem to highlight (with programming) the younger generation more these days IMO!

And they'll be less expensive elsewhere.
