QVC International Suggestion

Last night for fun, I decided to scout out QVC in other countries-and I had an absolute ball! Needless to say, I don't speak Chinese, Japanese, French, Italian or German, but it was fun to see what's going on.

I would love to see some sort of QVC Goes International programming: showcase products from other subsidiaries in other countries.....what's trending in fashion, food, decor....Perhaps have a host exchange....snippets about customs during holidays... Here in the U.S., you have things on Christmas Clearance, but in the UK, Christmas is going full tilt boogie!

I'm going back to the UK today, and I can't wait!

Please consider my ideas: shopping, food and fashion of all kinds just makes the world a friendlier, happier place!

Re: QVC International Suggestion

I've watched some of QVC UK and was surprised at the different brands they carry that are on other channels over here.  The styles are different than ours also.  Interesting to me.  I do have fiends who could buy and ship to me if I found something I just couldn't live without!

That sounds lovely!  However, unless it can also generate sales, I don't see it happening.  I don't believe you can order from across the separate QVCs.

Perhaps they might incorporate this idea during the 1 1/2 days they show recorded videos during the Christmas holiday next year?

Re: QVC International Suggestion

I understand there could be issues with food and cosmetic ingredients- but what about fashion and decor????

What really floored me is that we have all eupemistically referred to other shopping channels, but products that are on the other channels are on the European channels.

Go to any department here, and people complain about this same products-I think this idea would refresh QVC.  I love the Q and have precious few complaints, but this would be great!

I like your idea, @Poodlepet2!   I've heard the hosts mention trips to the other QVC locations but I don't know if they appeared on-air there or visited for behind-the-scenes activities.   Have safe travels, and enjoy your trip!

Re: QVC International Suggestion

Well, I spent the afternoon in the UK, and tonight I am heading to Germany!  I can kind of make my way through France and Germany, but I don't speak one word of German: does anybody want to join me? This is great- no long security lines!

I wish the QVC here was like the one in the UK.  They seem to cater to a much younger gereration.  They sell many dresses with hemlines several inches above the knee, have a winter floral collection, which is very nice.  They show many tops in prints which is few and far between here.  I just wish the euro had a better exchange rate.  I could actually see my 20 something daughter purchasing clothes here. http://www.qvcuk.com/LaceDresses.content.html

Re: QVC International Suggestion

Ive suggested several times that they eliminate the repetitious,  boring Irish days and instead have "international days"  where they feature nicely made products from many countries,  not just Ireland.

Re: QVC International Suggestion

I think it might be time to start "hammering" here in "Suggestions".  I don't care as much about the merchandise as I do the culture and the people.

QVC in any country, does its research, and before they present-they have a pretty good idea of what constitutes their market, the interest in the product etc.....but it would be wonderful to hear-from other countries- New products, customs etc.

Tomorrow, I am going to visit Japan...I am just moving my cursor to a line of script and clicking.

So far, from what I can see, QVC does not offer anywhere near the choices or items we get here....but there are cultural factors involved as well.
