True, but someone's going to eat it....

Not only that, David Venable often brings production people and control room ppl in to come taste the food these days and he often mentions that the food doesn't get wasted cuz the staff and crew eats it.

True, however, they are all on set and can visually see how it is prepared, how it is presented, what is touched and what is not.

It is their choice to partake or not.

Gosh, I wouldn't worry about such trivial things in this day and age!

I've never seen Ina Garten, Martha Stewart, Rachel Ray, or any other chefs pull their hair back when doing cooking shows.  Hair will fall out no matter what its length.  What's next, shave all the hosts from head to toe?  They're not supposed to hug, kiss, touch each other, have hair, eat the food, say "like" or "um," wear too much makeup, not look down, not look at the monitors, not interrupt the vendors, not "molest" the merchandise, etc.  Too funny.

If hair is hanging in the face of anyone that is dealing with food, I don't watch. Period.

I agree with OP.  This has always bothered me too, whether it's the hosts, vendors or other cooking shows, like Rachel Ray and the Pioneer Woman for example.  To me, it's just gross to have hair hanging down and sometimes you see them fussing with it too.

I suppose the complainers are not hair stylists.  When you cut hair, it get stuck to you like glue.  You find it everywhere.  You learn to shake it off and go on with your day.

it’s only hair.  My guess is that the average person has dirtier hands that have a ton more germs than their hair does.

that being said, when food is prepared in restaurants, etc.  hair nets/ hats and beard nets must be worn by law for food safety.  A TV presentation is not governed by those same rules.

The long hair that’s in the way bothers me during a jewelry show. I’d like to see the size of the earrings. Even if the item has measurements online, I’d like to see how they fit the ear, placement of post, ear coverage, etc.

Also, wish they would lose scarves. Who really wear scarves all the time ?

Susan Graver actually went up to a model and swished her hair out of the way, so, we folks at home could see the top had a V neck. Yay !

I'm sorry but I can't figure out why it would bother anyone.  There are no health hazards.  They don't serve the public.  They aren't serving it in a restaurant.  Most of it can't be consumed with all the tastings and that most of it is not finished cooking because they have a ready-made item to show at the end.
