I opened my Q card in February and after two contacts to customer service only got the credit in July, following the second request.

I agree with Betty.  Many of the hosts IMPLY that the credit will pay for the purchase you're making at the time of the application or when you get your first bill.  They hint that if the item ordered is 39.95 & the credit is $40 that this will zero out that you are spending when you apply for the card.   It's very misleading.  I received an offer in the mail of a $100 credit for applying for the Q card and the fine print stated that 4 to 6 months after opening the account the credit would be given. Catch 22.  If it seems too good to be true it probably is.  :-D
