Re: Please…more mature models!

I agree.  I am particularly disturbed by a TV commercial with Jennifer Garner (Neutrogena) asking, "At what age should you start using a wrinkle cream?"  I swear the model in the commercial was no more than 15 or 16.  Ridiculous.

Jane T. always likes using herself for modeling makeup.

What I don't care for is when they take the cream, serum or lotion and rub it into their hand and then compare it to their other hand that has nothing on it!
Well of course your hand that has the product is going to look better no matter what you put on it!

They can't show a lot of older models for skincare because the products don't even come close to doing what they claim to do.  It's just pretty packaging, smoke and mirrors.  With young models, we look at them and see what we want to see.  Not just on QVC.  The entire beauty industry in the US does it.  In Europe, they are legally prohibited from false or misleading claims so they do use older models for skincare.  They advertise looking better, fresher, healthier, more rested but not younger or ageless.

Just look at the older host, you will see every wrinkle on their face and neck when they are presenting certain makeup and skin care, you can get an idea of whether it will really work....so obvious that most of the skin care to erase wrinkles does not work to me it just emphasizes the wrinkles more....but this is just my observation and opinion.

Exactly.  If all the goop they sell really worked as claimed, why don't the older hosts use it?  Which isn't to criticize them.  They look lovely, beautiful, natural but they look their ages because they haven't had any cosmetic surgical procedures done.

Jane's makeup always accentuates her lines, especially around her eyes. The younger women don't even need makeup half the time.  It would be nice if they would show tips & tricks for mature women to use that would help minimizing our "flaws" for a change.  Laura Geller is about the only one that ever talks about that.

Also real plus size models too.

I see plus size models constantly. Rarely are petite - in height and weight - shown.

I see makeup on an old person a lot.  I just look in the mirror.  Not sure makeup looks good enough to show on an older person on camera.  If you are old, you're old.

@ellaphant I have seen 1x models that look perfectly proportioned. I want to see real plus size models.

Re: Please…more mature models!

I very, very recently spotted blonde Marie modeling something........

I was so happy to see her !

Wonderful model.

I like the way she wears / models items.  Not too-too tight.

Just the way I wear mine.

'More or less', 'Right or wrong', 'In general', and 'Just thinking out loud ' (as usual).
