Wow, I didn’t know that.
I thought if it was the same dress/ shirt/ pants it was included in the free shipping option when you exchanged from regular to petite.

@Sunniegirl.  The length would b3 included in some instances.  The rule is that the item for which you want to exchange and the new item MUST HAVE THE SAME ITEM NUMBER.  Some do while others dont.  They need to repeat this more often.

I agree with @Kachina624 --the hosts and the website should state there are free exchanges for the same item number.

When they just say "the same item" and have different item numbers for different lengths, that's rather misleading for most people.

   Well,  more than half of the time,  most of the Hosts do not  state the legnths between , regular, tall , petite . As a customer , you have to look on line yourself  and by the time you do ,  your size may be sold out.

In , having a company in this day and age with many competitors , I am very surprised .

For some reason Petite, Regular, and Tall usually have different item numbers so they are considered different items. That is the problem. Exchanges have to be the same item number. Doesn't seem like it should be a big deal but I guess in the computer system it makes a difference.

I've noticed that this has been true for quite a while.  I checked to see about the recent Graver dress TSV, in case the length was not right.  Just another way to get us.  Incidentally, the exchange policy once again does not work about 50% of the time.  Why can't they do it like HSN?  It creates good feelings when you know you'll actually get your exchange, & quickly.

And that's another problem.  People can exchange some items for different lengths so they assume they can do that with all items.
