I've noticed that since they were bought out you now get all of this lotion and bath soap together along with the perfume.  I think they've watered down the perfume so they can offer all of the other stuff.  I have that lotion and soap coming out of my ears because it's hard to get the perfume without the lotion (I'd rather have the perfume like the way it used to be).

It's a joke in my family the way I'm always trying to get rid of all of these (gallons)....of lotion and soap of AG because I want the perfume.  No matter how much I put on, you STILL can't smell the stuff.  I've asked friends if they can smell it.  They're like, "Ummm....???  What am I supposed to be able to smell because I smell nothing"?

I so agree with all of you, not the same smell in any of them. I wish QVC would take note, do their own testing/ survey. They must see that  their profits and amounts of products sold are down. So sad to be so loyal to produçts and have it change so. Please QVC do something

Was there something in the original AG that was taken out so that it does not last? I am very disappointed in it and it is not cheap.

Seems a shame to me.

(ETA:  I can't wear some of the ones you mentioned because they give me headaches.  The original Philosphy fragrances were some of the few that didn't.)

I can, but you'll still be standing on the dock waving at the ship that has sailed into the sunset and isn't coming back.

@ChynnaBlue - No, I won't be.  Don't be so insulting.  I'm well aware Coty is not going to restore the original formulas; I'm sure it's just another cost-cutting exercise for them.

Instead of "standing at the dock waving" I'll be moving on to a different product.  I hope you feel better though for that snarky comment.

Coty has certainly changed something in the formula (probably substituted cheaper synthetic ingredients).  And you're right - it's not inexpensive, but it certainly smells "cheap" now.

(I remember all the Coty drugstore fragrances and was very sorry to hear they'd bought out Philosophy.)

I've never been a fan of the shower gels.  It's even mentioned in the presentations that the scent of the shower gels is only supposed to last in the shower, not once you rinse off and towel dry.  I don't know if that was always the case.  That stuff never cleaned & rinsed off well enough for my liking.

It's all about layer, layer, layer in every presentation.  Compensating for the lack of true essence of the fragrance.  For me, the old Amazing Grace was strong, a very little went a very long way. Since the formula changed, they pulled back way too much. They want you to carry the spritz or eau de parfum with you in your handbag to refresh the scent all day. Nah.

Just wondering, has anyone posed the question of how AG fragrance appears to have changed to the "Philosophy girls" when they come on presenting their products?  If so, can you share their response or advice?     Thanks.

I would be willing to bet that IF you were able to ask one of the Philosopy girls on air, the reply would be that they would check on it and get back to you. Please leave your name and number with the operator.

I've only made one Philosophy fragrance purchase, a Living Grace 3-pc. set. Because of this, I can't make any old vs. new formula comparisons. What I can say is that the great smell had literally disappeared by the time I got to work after applying it before leaving the house. Reading reviews and forum comments have at least assured me that it wasn't just a bad chemistry with my skin. I still have a bit of the shower gel left; at least I can enjoy the scent for the 5 - 10 minutes I'm in the shower or bath. When and if I hear the spokesperson say that the products have been reformulated for staying power, I might try again...might.

I loved Pure Grace. I bought it for myself and asked for it to be gifted at Xmas & birthday. That stopped when the formula changed. There's no point any more. Why spend money on something that has no scent? I can spritz water on myself for free.
