PLEASE - no more SurePost for food and sensitive items!

[ Edited ]

Moderators, I (and I think many others) would appreciate it if you could use whatever powers you may have to convince QVC to stop shipping food items and similarly perishable/sensitive items such as candles via SurePost.

I understand that the Q is trying to save money wherever it can, but this is just not a good business practice. The transfer between UPS/FedEx and the USPS typically adds two to four days to the shipping cycle, which means there are even more opportunities for chocolate or candles to melt or for cookies and candy to get crushed or stale or for any of these items to otherwise be compromised. And none of the couriers is really at fault for these issues—they're the result of time and extra handling.

As a frequent package shipper myself, I simply cannot imagine that it is cheaper to use two methods of delivery rather than one in these cases, especially since the chance of problems that result in customer refunds is much higher. (It is also frustrating to wait a few extra days for a book or gadget or seasonal decoration shipped via SurePost, but the likelihood that the added transit time will negatively impact such items is quite low.)

Thank you for your time! I hope others will share their thoughts on this issue as well and that our feedback will make a difference.
