In the olden days a host would disappear if she made this many mistakes. I wonder if QVC just doesn’t pay as well these days?

She flubbed up his name a few times too. I am not usually critical of people on TV (because as I've said, I'm not perfect).

He's so professional (but kind) I would think she she would have (as you said) studied and at least seen a few of his other shows before.

I did feel sorry for her because it looked like she was nervous. Maybe that was it. I've always found her hard to watch but it was his show so I sat through it.

It's nothing personal, I just don't like the sound of her voice and I feel like she isn't prepared for her shows.

I apologize for being so critical...but (I'm whispering...'It is her job".

It is so apparent that Ms. Zell was and is completely unprepared, and the impression and conclusion is that she does not enjoy her job. It has nothing to do with being new.

When a host is prepared and loves what they do, regardless of what they're selling, that "feeling" is conveyed to the viewer & they're wonderful to watch for example, Mary Nelson, or the new Kourtney or Cathy. (Although he's not new, my personal fav is Alberti)

@Patriot3 That's the part I saw. I thought "did she really say that"? I almost backed it up, but when he corrected her, I knew. I am thinking this host might not last too long. If they dismissed Alexis so quickly, I see Christine gone soon.

Granted I haven’t watched the Q for a long time; however,

I would like folks to remember that once you get a name wrong or it’s pronunciation, the mind sometimes creates a “ mental block. “

I can remember once in my career that as I was presenting an HR computer system to the VP-Personnel with my boss for final approval to launch, I kept tripping over one particularly difficult word. It was a word that normally flowed without a second thought on my part.

It became obvious to us all that this word ( for the life of me I can’t remember what it was ! ) was not going to get better! Since I had a reputation for being an excellent presenter, we decided to just laugh and get to the heart of the meeting.

It did not hold my career back: how I handled it probably did some good.

As for Q’s new trainees: there should be a mentor and rehearsals. Reviewing on-air presentations is a must: it’s difficult to watch oneself but the learning from it is priceless. This was one of the techniques I used in developing presenters and coaching folks on how to be interviewed.

Hopefully these hosts will get better as time goes on, it seems these are the worst bunch of new hires in awhile. What these people do for a living is not rocket science.LOL

It seems the people making the decisions have also lowered their standards, or perhaps they too are new and don't have any standards to begin with. I've been with the Q for a very long time and I have never seen such a terrible batch of new hirees in my life.

I've never seen Kristine so went to the Meet The Hosts page, and she's not there. Is she so new she wouldn't be on that page, or is she gone already?

@NickNack I believe the hosts have a period of waiting for permanent position (I think 6mo), before their pic is posted. I am sure you find her on Facebook under her name-QVC.

I had to stop watching the show.Her nervousness,made me nervous and I cannot enjoy show if I cannot relax while watching it.Maybe she was nervous because she was not prepared,and also I felt,she did not seem to treat him with the respect,he deserves!
