A recent thread makes me infer that moderators are not always reading an entire thread before deleting individual posts. I suggest that they make it a practice to do so. It really doesn't take very long to read most threads.

I came here after a day of Thanksgiving yesterday to catch up and see what's new. The "Thanksgiving is unfair to women" post caught my eye. I can't, for the life of me understand why it was closed down???? Nothing I saw that would have warranted that action.

I, too, questioned what was inappropriate about any of the responses in that thread when it was shut down yesterday. No politics, religion, piling on, host bashing, etc. Maybe one of the mods can enlighten us.

I've almost stopped totally posting here anymore. No matter how nice you can be,
somehow, the thread is gone or locked.
I find it childish at times.

************* Finally get something going that is not political or religious and even that is closed down. Discouraging.
Moderators would you go back and rethink this one?

Instead of shutting down so many threads, I suggest they shut down the problem posters. If you pay attention, it doesn't take long to recognize a pattern of the same nicknames in the threads that get quelled. It might be better if moderators locked out posters, even if just on the threads they are jeopardizing, so others could continue to converse in peace.

I just had a posting deleted for being "Argumentative," in a thread full of postings that were obviously not challenged - and some of them should have been. I simply stated a few facts, deliberately worded, and I stand they were not argumentative. I have challenged this. The moderation here is sometimes sketchy, and I feel some moderators may need some additional training. And we all have seen some posters who manage to always derail threads, but seem to get away with it, time after time. Different rules for different people? I don't know. But there is a problem. All I can hope for is fairness here.

I, too, have been occasionally censored for, IMHO, innocuous comments. I tend to be direct and to-the-point, but I deliberately avoid being rude or unkind. I have come to the conclusion there is preferential leniency for some posters, particularly those with higher rankings. Some "respected" posters are not so respectful.

That thread was going downhill like a rock.
I have no idea why they close some threads, preventative measures maybe. I don't always agree either but it's a BB not my life. Unless it's controversial generally they drop off the first few pages anyway.

I was actually thinking of a Fashion thread. The OP provided a link to another website. A few of us posted later with other links to that same website. One person simply posted photos from the link provided in the OP, and her post was deleted. Our posts were deleted because they were links to another site, yet the OP remained. I asked the moderator who deleted my post to explain why some posts could contain links to that website while others can't. That moderator never responded, but another moderator came along and deleted the thread. Again, we were just posting links to the same website mentioned in the OP, so it seemed like they were deleting posts without even reading the first post that started the thread.
