My gosh! Imagine how many posts it takes to get to Exalted Contributor! I'd have to quit my day job to keep up. 😜

At this point, what we all should do is start a thread an each add a one-word post...  and then be sure to "heart" everyone's posts...  and keep it up until the combination of post numbers and hearts boosts all the rankings and everyone has the same "title."  (Said in jest, just to be sure that's clear, but that illustrates how useless these "rankings" are.Smiley

The titles are meaningless, and really need to be removed or everyone should have the same title, in my opinion.

I remember noticing them last June, when they re-tooled the board.  But, honestly, I haven't noticed it for months.

I imagine they figured that many people would fancy that sort of thing, along with a lot of other accountrements they added.

For me, I just enjoy this as a board experience so I don't see a lot of the toys people use.   On that first day, I went through 'settings' and unchecked a ton of stuff.   At least there are a lot of choices.

I don't imagine there are choices as to the titles thing but, oh well.  I do, however, find it pretty easy to just ignore.  I don't even go out of my way.  I just stopped noticing it a long time ago.   That worked for me.  YMMV  Smiley Happy

One thing I've seen here now that is rather disturbing is all the 'heart begging'.  I've seen numerous heart-begging threads and that just strikes me as odd.  But, hey, that's  JMNSHO.

@dooBdoo, lol, or maybe it would make the ranking system explode!! *tee hee*

Yup, these silly rankings need to get the boot... and quickly.

@SurferWife, btw, it was started as a joke... and then quickly became an inside joke... the final three rankings don't exist (there are no outstanding, acclaimed and exalted rankings). I think someone just listed those categories to show just how silly these rankings are. I'm just happy to be spending most of my forum time in the Wen forum where all we really care about are things like PJP, NBT, 319 and the active advance order numbers for the Wen March 19th TSV. lol, that's what's really important. Wow. I'm all over the place and I've never seen any heart begging. Ewww.

The only thing I register in my head is *number* of posts. Very few, I notice. Very many, I notice. Anything else...meh.

I can't help but think that there are two main reasons for all the rabid complaints about titles:

(1) the poster dislikes people who have a title they feel is inappropriate ("well *I* don't honor or esteem or respect that person, so *I* think the titles are ridiculous and they should all go so *I*don't have to be confronted with it whenever that person *I* don't like posts!")

and

(2) the poster is simply jealous of people who are "ahead" of them in number of posts, because *the poster* equates number of posts with how respected people are, how regarded, noticed, how much clout - whatever it is - people are viewed on the forums.

The truth is, for anyone who has been a regular poster for a few years, they understand that it's the *person* and *what they say here* that makes them respected, liked, disliked, etc. and the recently added titles will never have anything to do with that - they didn't before and they don't now.  the titles are meaningless except to the person who GIVES them meaning. So...why do it?

The titles are rather irrelevent.  If it goes by post count, those of us who were members here for many years before 2010 (that's what they show as my sign up year).....We should be called something like....."Superior Beings"

And no...I'm not claiming that!  Just trying to inject some humor into these ratings, or what ever they are.

I don’t post that often because I have bad eyesight & limit my time on the computer
I would truly like an explanation from a QVC moderator as it does get confusing.
Plus some people post just for the sake of posting; without any value to what their saying. They just want the higher number & ranking.

I stumbled on this same ranking system on a different forum, so it must be a feature of this software. I don’t see how QVC could get rid of it.

@ Montana.  Of course it's a feature of the software, just like not having the ignore button. It doesn't mean anything.

Ah sucks people I am working hard to earn my next badge.  I am about 700 posts away from whatever is next.  It beats working on a college or graduate degree.  Nothing more than not knowing how to shut up and keep the words flowing, one post at at time.  LOL
