I am so discouraged with buying clothes on QVC.
I am losing weight and in between sizes, and now if I need to return something, I am out the original 3.00 plus 6.95 to return the item.
I have been buying Denim & Co. for years as my work wardrobe. It washes well and is easy to maintain in dryer and with ironing.
However, the LOVE IT OR RETURN IT for 9.95 is turning me away from the Q.
And has me headed to brick and mortar stores like Kohl's & JCPenney.
Very frustrating.
If the sizing isn't reliable, why bother? I gave up on buying clothes almost 2 years ago ..... it's exasperating, to say the least.
There are plenty of brick & mortar stores that would love to have your business, and they don't charge shipping costs, lol. Plus, you can try it on right there and know if it's a fit, or you should just move on.

Althought it may seem unfair to you,, the fact is you are getting an item, having it packaged and shipped to you, and then returning it up to 30 days later. This is an item that QVC can then not sell -- at least not during the time you jhave it. Likely, the item will not be able to be sold as new and will then have to be discounted and sold as-is or in an outlet. So, again, why should you not at least pay shipping?
And before you begin citing companies which offer "free shipping," know that not only do these retailers build shipping into their prices, but know that QVC is up-front with its shipping charges. QVC is hiding nothing from you. If you opt to "take a chance" on something when your sizing has changed and you are unsure of the appropriate size, I do not see how you can fault QVC.
Many companies selling remotely, meaning outside of a purchase and carry environment, do not charge two way shipping. Moreover, any assumption about QVC not selling returned merchandise as new would be easily disputed by reading some of the experiences of those on these boards, who most certainly have received supposedly new items only to find they've been worn, smell, are dirty and so on... When companies build 'free' shipping into their prices and their prices are still the same or lower than QVC then, yes, that's money saved by the consumer.
I think we all know that QVC is being 'up front' with us about their policy. However, what you're reading is that given their policy, an increasing number of customers are losing interest in paying for the privilege of trying on a garment (or taking a risk on another item) and finding it doesn't work for them. The policies are as they are. That doesn't mean customers have to like it. When and if enough customers start refusing to 'take a chance' then maybe we'll see an actual policy that favors someone other than QVC.

If you are between sizes, don't buy from Q. There are plenty of lower priced clothes out there that will do you fine until you reach your goal. Why spend $$ for something you might be only able to wear a short while.

This is just a random thought that "popped" up while I was reading these posts. Before I order QVC clothing, I prefer to wait until some reviews are posted. I look at the review information and then judge my sizing. However, on another clothing manufacturer website, I was able to build a "virtual" model of myself, using my measurements. (Uh....THAT was eye opening!) I appreciated this aid which I used to figure my sizing. I wonder how difficult it would be for QVC to implement something like this on their website? I would love having an option for my measurements to filter through any piece of clothing and a "suggested" size be indicated. It would offer a more "personalized" service and, I think, cut down on the inconvenience and cost of returns.

Years ago, I did pretty well with a few pieces from Denim & Co. and Susan Graver. I recently tuned in to a couple of those shows and was astounded at the high prices -- even Denim & Co. Local shopping and other on-line shopping is much more economical.

I can't remember the amount of money I spent on the merry-go-round with Clark shoes. You're mistaken if you believe the brand of shoes will always be the same in your size. $9.95 is a pittance when the S&H is $5. and the return $6.95 and the second size doesn't fit either. I won't take a chance on trying on shoes at the Q anymore. And there is nothing unusual about my foot being an average size 8, Medium width.

Exactly @handygal2. That's almost a twenty dollar bill alert... just for the option of deciding something isn't going to fit or otherwise doesn't work for us. The more officious among us might choose to chastise those who return and indicate it's their fault and they should pay-pay-pay, but others of us realize purchasing by mail order is fraught with potential reasons an item might not work out. If QVC wants to address serial returners, there are other ways to do it aside from gouging the rest of us on their shipping. Ultimately, all it means for many of us is that we stop taking chances, our orders shrink and they lose money.

My purchases are way down since the new shipping policy went into effect...it's just not worth taking the chance. I have returned a LOT of slacks, in the past.... I cannot get a decent fit and I have found better prices at the mall.
