On many shows their specific music is playing way too loud when host is describing, discussing or preparing a recipe such as do Mary D. and Stacey S. Why are we, the viewer/customer, disrupted by any music at all let alone the unnecessary loudness? And some show's music is very unpleasant, booming with drums and obnoxious making it more difficult to view or hear the host! Perhaps some music is designed around the host's preference, but why so loud on air?

ScarletDove,
It does get loud at times.
I use our Bose soundbar, it helps to put the speaking voices "up front" during movies and presentations such as on the Q. Once in a while I have to rewind the TV (Xfinity allows this on our TV) and try to lean in so-to-speak to hear better what the detail is that I missed.
Is it the OSCARS at speech time - or the Q?

I have noticed on most programs on tv the background music takes over the programs and the music is so loud it is hard to hear the people talking. It is very annoying and distracting. Funny i don't notice it during commercials. What is the purpose of the background music?
