Think she was selling joggers. There are many people that are alone on these holidays and it would be good not to gone on and on about the fire and the hot choco and all the peeps at the table. And also many people have an empty seat at the table. Find another way to sell your stuff.

Hosts can't be all things to all people.

Of course not,but whomever "writes" the presentations could be a little more sensitive.

@Group 5 minus 1  I'm one of those people, but I haven't the slightest idea what the hosts might be encouraged to use as a more successful way to sell.

What would you have the hosts be asked to use as their main pitch?

Re: Listening to a presentation

I agree that they go overboard sometimes when selling. For me it's annoying when they go on and on about  "all the holiday parties you'll be going to".  Uh, not me.

It's just another sales pitch.  Of course it can't specifically apply to everyone.  I just let it go in one ear and out the other.

I agree it's too much emphasis and can make some people feel sad.  I've said it before, the sales pitch is that they are selling a fantasy, the life you maybe once had or wish you have.

Re: Listening to a presentation

We've all been through "stuff," suffered loss, and had difficult holiday seasons.  But we cannot become overly sensitive to what for many people is the best time of the year.  Remember the joy.
