LOGO shows - explaining the colors

I am a fan of LOGO. But I sometimes get confused with colors and what I think would look best with my coloring. Lori does such a good job of explaining her colors, but if she doesn't - sometimes she just doesn't have the time because of the pace of the show, and there are two or three similar colors in the line (e.g. eggshell, chalk, alabaster - how are they different?),  it can be confusing. Will this item match what I already have?

Is there any way possible there could be a link on the LOGO home page where you could see a description of all of the colors? I got to watch today's show (February 18) and she was sometimes able to really explain those colors - it was great! I have seen a few other shows where the host just names the colors without ever explaining them.

One color that mystifies me......MUSHROOM......(there are so many  varieties of them.)

@beach-mom  You aren't alone. Even Lori can't keep her own colors straight.  Today she kept calling "plum raisin" (the tank) "rum raisin."   And recently the card labeled something as smokey taupe that was really blackberry so, although Lori corrected the host by saying it was "blackberry,"  her card and the item labelled on this site said "smokey taupe."   I guess we'll just have to live with it, if even Lori can't keep them straight!  Smiley Happy

That's a great idea beach-mom.  It is sorely needed.

Re: LOGO shows - explaining the colors

Occasionally,  I'll pause checking channels and watch a few minutes of Lori.   I'm at a loss to understand how a person ever puts an outfit together.   She pulls clothing from the back of her rack,  hold unrelated items in her hand and mentions items you cannot see.   There will be things under two layers on the models which just peek out.

She is dashing and pacing around slinging things here and there... how does anyone shop with that sort of disjointed presentation?   There's got to be a better way of showing customers what is available to wear under a certain cardigan or with a particular pair of pants.   She is disorganized and totally confuses me.

Re: LOGO shows - explaining the colors

@beach-mom I am a huge Logo fan and I understand where you are coming from. First of all the sheer number of colors is daunting but it also keeps things from being boring in my opinion. One thing I have learned is that many of her colors go together even if they aren't matchy matchy. At first I didn't understand that aspect of her color palettes. Also her multi print tanks are designed in such a way, they bring disparate color combinations together.

I think your idea is a good one, and there are many versions of similar colors as you noted. I have found the colors that work best for me and the bulk of my Logo wardrobe is divided between these 7-8 colors with the occasional new color I want to try. I find Lori's colors to be very flattering except for ones I know won't work for me. I agree it is a lot to keep up with, as Pearley noted, even Lori has trouble. In our Logo forum we do our best to describe the colors and what works for us so that others can get an idea before ordering. The shows are helpful too.

I know this line is not for people who want everything to match up perfectly in familiar shades. I have to laugh when people write their reviews saying I wish she would do a straight navy. In my opinion there are plenty of lines on the Q for that look. Logo is for people who want something unique and different and in that area I would say Lori and Logo are successful.

Thanks for your help @Debzzz! THe main thing I'm concerned about is if colors have a warmer tone or not, especially the shades of white. I certainly don't want everything to match, and I know Lori's colors go with almost everything, but the truth is I look horrible in cool whites or whites with any grey tones. So I can't order those. I took a chance on Vintage Coral last year (because I look GREAT in corals - it's one of my favorite colors!), but I had to return it - it looked awful on me, even though it fit and the style was SO cute! Her Deep Coral looks great on me.

If I had some kind of chart where she described the undertones of the colors, I'd have a better idea! Smiley Happy

@beach-mom  I will tell you that her white birch definitely has gray in it.  She has a white birch choice in one garment in tonight's show so don't even be tempted by that color choice!

@Pearlee - Just seeing this, but I wasn't able to watch tonight anyway! Thanks for the help. That's one color I'll know not to try! Smiley Wink
