@Caaareful Shopperwrote:That would be a nice idea, I hope QVC does not do anything like this suggestion until they modify their review process that they have now. Currently, you don't even have to purchase or receive an item in order to "review" it. There have been many posts complaining about QVC's reviews. One of the Mods even responded that QVC is OK with receiving someone's impression of the product (meaning they never even bought it, but they give it a rating anyway) as a review.
Until QVC only accepts real reviews, incentivizing people to review would make false reviews rampant, I have no doubt.
I can only say "OMG." An "impression" is pretty ridiculous and COMPLETELY unhelpful, QVC. You'd think QVC would know better. Particularly since the actual purchasers don't even understand what they have in their own hands plenty of times.

I totally agree @GingerPeach. There are also people who have posted here in the past that said as long as they see the item on TV and believe the host & vendor, there should be no problem with writing a review, whether they actually purchase it or not. I was floored when I read that, but it shows why so many false reviews are there. Ridiculous, in my opinion.

This will probably be deleted, but sadly there are lot of not-very-smart folks in this world. And the rest of us have to learn to sort through the chaff to get to the grain.

@Another new name Suewrote:Not needed at all. We have plenty of reviews here already, so why would Q want to PAY customers for reviews? It would just be another level of confusion too. I don’t know of another company who does such a thing, do you?
@Another new name Sue: I've noticed that some of the reviews on Nordstrom's site say at the bottom, "This review is part of a sweepstakes entry." This is another form of incentivizing people to write reviews. I sometimes wonder whether it influences the reviewers to write better reviews than the product deserves...

A review would certainly have to be of a purchased item. If QVC does not have control of that then the reviews are worthless to all. But a point for a review would be a nice touch to show appreciation to customers who kind of need something to continue shopping. I do like the idea of using points toward free shipping. Everyone hates the high shipping charges...maybe that could make everyone happy.
