I LOVE Kuhn Rikon shears, however I think the newer ones with the latch are a different grade. I ordered the original ones years ago (prior to 2019) and I used them in my garden all the time. The spring finally gave out last month. So, or course I have the new version from last year, have been using them for less than a month and they barely open. Please bring back the old version or use the same material from before!

Thanks for the information. I purchased some a few years ago, and they are lovely. I use them for all sorts of things around the house. I let a friend use them a few weeks ago while at my house. She was so impressed that I considered purchasing her a pair for Christmas, but not if the quality has degraded.

@Emily09.  Agreed, I've bought numerous sets for years.  Each set I've bought is a lesser quality than the last.  I'll no longer buy them.

Sadly this is the way of things these days, they are buying cheaper products but the pricing is higher than the previous units. Sadly I don't think this is unique to QVC.

Agree with all the above.  Plus, with "shrinkflation" there are only three instead of four pair.  Absolutely love the originals!

I have a set from several years ago.  They are nice but dull quickly and do not self sharpen well like they say.

@Emily09   I purchased iBayam  All Purpose Kitchen Shears with Sheath from Amazon 2 years ago.  They have wonderful reviews.  I love mine.

I still have a few pairs of the original shears going strong, but I buy the new sets almost every year. After getting a set of the version from two years ago (I think) with the latch set between the handles, I avoided that style—it was a bit cumbersome and the overall design seemed to suffer, though it didn't make sense why that would be the case. But I needed more shears this year for gifts, and I have to say the current design is very nice and the shears are sharp and work well; I kept one new pair for myself since I've never actually used them in the kitchen after all this time buying them.  Smiley Wink

@Emily09 @Kachina624

I have purchased the Sebatier break apart for cleaning shears for many years and recently bought another set they are great.

Not lightweight so that may be an issue but they stay sharp and I love I can clean them. Use mostly in the kitchen but that's because I cook a lot.

@rockygems123 - You have to love QVC's definition of "in demand" in your screenshot: 6 sold in 48 hours!  Smiley Very Happy
