Jimmy the Baker cinnamon rolls

I would love to see an option to the cinnamon rolls made with raisins added!

@Shopper from TX.  They probably don't because lots of people don't like raisins in something like that.

Re: Jimmy the Baker cinnamon rolls

Growing up in the 60's, a special treat for us was when my Mom went to the bakery and came home with cinnamon buns with raisins.  Also known as sticky buns because they are sticky, we now get them while at the jersey shore at a bakery where people wait in line for the sticky buns.  There they come with or without raisins and with or without walnuts.  Delicous!!

Re: Jimmy the Baker cinnamon rolls

I make them occasionally from scratch.  If I add raisins, everyone complains.  Walnuts or plain are favorites.

If you want to make your own the easy way, just buy RICH's frozen bread dough.  Thaw it out, roll it into a rectangle, spread a generous amount of butter on it and sprinkle brown sugar, cinnamon and add raisins, walnuts, pecans if you wish.  Roll up the stuffed dough and cut into pieces .Place melted butter in a  cake pan with a little brown sugar  and place the rolled cut dough pieces on top.

Bake.  Then turn out on a platter while still hot.

Even my grandkids liked to make these when they were little.  So easy.

Re: Jimmy the Baker cinnamon rolls

This is only peripherally related, so forgive me, but I keep meaning to post about it and haven't motivated myself to start a whole thread.  Smiley Wink

I recently discovered that Jimmy the Baker sticky buns are available on Amazon, and at some pretty nice prices! They only have standard rather than Prime shipping, but I placed an order for a 14-pack on a Tuesday and received them just a few days later on Saturday. I do have UPS My Choice Premium, so there's a chance they would've arrived the following Monday if there had been a USPS handoff, but that's still speedy shipping to me.

It may be getting a bit hot for ambient shipping in some areas, but if you're interested, check out the Jimmy shop on Amazon—they also offer cinnamon rolls and bread as well as a multi-pack of icing. I'll be keeping an eye on the inventory in case they expand it to include some of the specialty flavors/options...

When were they baked?  Did that mean you received 4-day-old baked goods?

Re: Jimmy the Baker cinnamon rolls

@DottieBlue - Jimmy the Baker products always ship via UPS Ground or SurePost when I order via QVC (and I believe that's the main option through Jimmy's website), so this was a standard delivery timeframe or possibly even a bit quicker than normal. I ordered on Tuesday, the package shipped on Wednesday night, and I received it around noon on Saturday. Everything was nice and fresh. We ate a few buns at a gathering on Sunday evening and then stashed two in the fridge to eat a few days later and four in the freezer for longer-term storage. It's nice to have tasty treats on hand for a quick dessert or snack.

@loriqvc

I've been wanting to try the cinnamon rolls but wasn't sure if they would arrive very fresh.

Thanks so much for your response.

I don't even buy those anymore. I am too weak. They really are good.  My fav is the sticky buns.  I woukd like with raisins as well.  Are way too convenient, and way too good to sock up.

Re: Jimmy the Baker cinnamon rolls

@DottieBlue - Everything we have ordered from Jimmy the Baker has been fresh and delicious. We love the cinnamon rolls and various other roll flavors (the apple is our favorite but not frequently available), the crumb cakes (every flavor has exceeded expectations, with the peach and blueberry in a close race for our top spot), and now the sticky buns.

However, all that said, we generally do not order during the hottest months of the year if only standard/ambient shipping is offered. We feel it's best to just not take a chance on a box of goodies getting "further baked" in trucks and in warehouses for days, especially if icing is involved. Although it is unlikely anything awful will happen since this is how a lot of bakery items are shipped across the country year round, we just enjoy the stash of previously purchased Jimmy items in our freezer from June through September.

I hope you decide to try the cinnamon rolls sometime—I doubt you'll be disappointed!
