Mary Beth is a classy host, but "here's the thing" DOES get on my nerves. EVERY single sentence.

Won't EVER watch Lori G, I turn the channel as soon as I see her.

@TX-starlight  You and I are very compatible.  Jennifer has changed a lot.

When my DH and I would go out to dinner, I hated it when the waiter or waitress would address us as "you guys."   With Isaac everything is "major."   My biggest pet peeve, I think, is "stinkin' cute."  Used a lot with Temptations and many other products and various hosts use the term.

Re: Jennifer Please!!

[ Edited ]

I will tell you what bothers me is when I am trying to shop and suddenly turns into a tlc or lifetime show. Going to get hate or poofed....HOWEVER.....a recent host...has been milking it. First it was an announcement that had NOTHING to do with sales. We all had to wait in anticipation. I was debating as to check CNN or Fox news to see if breaking news reports to find out that this host was going to be gone a WHOLE month for the cliffhanger. It was a birth/adoption announcement. Normally with hosts, they get balloons, cake,,a few tears and we move on. An occasional update to the big day. Flashforward to this past week. Wife was shopping and suddeenly there was ANOTHER announcement from the same host  Ok, new baby..new show..did her kid cure cancer? NOPE..Viewers had to stop and watch her BFF, HUBBY, suprised the pope himself did not fly in too for this... COMMUNION....yep.

I am not heartless. However, if I tune in for a purpose like trying to hear about a product to make an educated choice with my $$$$. Same goes for having to hear a sermon or a dr phil episode when someone is selling printers. I don't need to hear about how someone's departed family member coming back as a duck on a lake with 100 other ones or in a tube of toothpaste one morning for 59 mins and 1 min on the ACTUAL product. Facebook,twitter,snapchat...go for whatever floats your boat...

Blame the economy, sales are down everywhere. However, maybe the q can bounce back and take a lesson from HSN. Be friendly, engaging...get your point across/sell the product WITHOUT acting like a bad SNL skit....(Planet VS Moon argument??!!! when selling dresses ring a bell?) and avoid the TMI moments..that is a WHOLE diff topic.

Agree with both of you...like a different personality altogether...

Watch Susan Graver and count how many times she says "literally".  More times than most, it gets said in the wrong context.  As many times as these comments are posted, you would think vendors/hosts would read and try their best to correct.  Come to the conclusion that things will never change at the Q, no matter how much we post.

Mark Charles on the kitchen shows uses "literally" and "actually" way, way too often.  Sometimes one of each in the same sentence - literally.

I think several people use the same phrases over and over.

But, probably we all do as well, maybe without realizing it.

I noticed Lisa Rinna  uses, "Are you kidding me...!" a lot.

Another phrase that has come into sales a lot  "sweet spot"

or a "Goldilocks item.."

Jennifer and Kirsten are two of the most conceited hosts QVC has ever had on the air.  They are experts on everything and will tell you so over and over again.  I refuse to watch any show they host now.

I have watched Jennifer Coffey many times and enjoy her presentations. She explains things well and I get all the information in a timely manner.  BUT I do wish she would stop saying "are you diggin this" or use the word diggin so often I turn off the volume. I know they have to talk nonstop for so long they probably don't listen to what they say but it gets on the customers nerves sometimes.

@rhine I rarely watch her presentations, but tuned in to see the Princess Grace collection, only it's a silver clearance show (the mixed up cable guide!). She is "diggin" most everything. Now I for sure will notice this phrase, lol.

Life must be darn easy to get worked up over someone else's words. I am not going let someone's word choices take up space in my brain.  Life is short.  Stop spending time on something you can't control.  You can control how you respond/react to it.
