First of all, I'm not a fan of the shows with a named host. I think variety would be preferable. But at the very least, if a host is not going to be there, change the programming!
For example, Antonella is on QVC2 hosting In the Kitchen with Mary. Why? If Mary is on vacation, why doesn't Antonella host fashion or jewelry? Same is true for PM Style. If Shawn is off for months, why not do something different for Monday evenings? It's silly to continually see PM Style with Shawn Killinger.
I understand if the host is sick that time wouldn't allow for a change. But for heaven's sake, if you know someone won't be there, take the opportunity to try something new or at least different.

Actually, I thought Antonella hosted most of the jewelry shows. However, I agree that it would be nice if QVC regularly switched out the hosts.

That's ridiculous.
It's Mary's show.
These shows are planned and scripted in advance, vendors on site, products lined up.
No other show on TV will change a program just because the "star" may be absent.
Same with a Broadway show.
The show goes on, with or without the star.

I enjoy PM style without Shawn, I like it when they change hosts, they all bring something different to the table.

I always enjoy seeing Antonella on cooking shows - she knows how to cook!

I think the shows that are truly misnamed are the "Jane's' Closet" or "Jennifer's Closet"!!! I am sure that most of us know that the host does not OWN all the items presented in the show, so why pretend that she does???? Just call the show what it is...accessories, casual wear, etc.

Thre is a very logical reason to retain the format of shows such as In the Kitchen even if the regular host is absent. Using ITK as an example: it's a popular program format for QVC and undoubtedly a lot of customers tune into to shop for kitchen and food items during time slots with for In The Kitchen. It stands to reason that many of these customers may not mind if David, Mary, Antonella, or Trix is hosting. They just expect to see dining, kitchen, and food items in the time slot. That theory applies to any of the weekly regular programs.
I frequently tune into QVC late Sunday morning for the sole purpose of seeing an In The Kitchen show. I prefer David, but certainly do not tune out because Jane or Carolyn are subbing. The disappointment is if the In The Kitchen show is preempted for whatever reason.

I kinda agree that if a specific host is away for a while (not just one show for vacation) it would be a great opportunity to try something new. Trying someone new (like Antonella in Mary's show) is a real turn off for me. Literally. I am not a fan of Antonella anyway, and I really don't like her in food shows with all that hair flying everywhere around the food, nor do I like her on fashion shows. So there's no ITKWM for me till Mary returns
I do like it when David is gone and there is a sub host. That show works well with different people filling in. I just wish they would stop reminding us that it's ITKWKD. My across the street neighbor was planning to name her new son David James, but changed he mind after she watched the show a few times and heard the name over and over and over. He's now Kevin James. Good choice I think.

I agree with this! It would be too much to coordinate just because someone needed surgery. It is good to see Antonella today (she looks really good).

OMGoodness. I just flipped ovet to In the Kitchen with Mary for a moment to see what they were offering. Antonella was eating and cutting and talking with her mouth open and full of steak. More disgusting than any host I've ever seen on a food show. I hope you missed it.
