Maybe the Q should produce a "HOW TO"  Fashion Book...with illustrations of the proper attire for the various activities in our lives...

Staying active, interested, and open-minded is probably a good thing.  Might reduce the urge to complain and criticize, as well.

What I remember from the years I worked in residential real estate was that when we did cold calls if we averaged one bite for every 30 calls we made that was enough to lead to listings and/or sales.

The hosts and the producers don't expect everyone to buy everything or everyone to go every place, etc.

For example, when I was still buying jewelry, I most likely bought enough strands of Honora to account for 5 or more of those of us watching.   (Good thing Lisa and Joel left a few months after I decided NO MORE.)

Yes! It sounds so depressing to just want to sit at home all the time. I want to keep learning and keep having new experiences.  Also, I don't mind the suggestions of where to wear things. I don't think that it's meant to be taken so literally; it's just a way to spark your imagination as to how a piece might fit into your individual lifestyle.

Well, I love hearing all those ideas, and yes, if I had the money and the time, and a full-time pet sitter, I would certainly be off and enjoying more great trips and activities. Once can certainly be as busy as one chooses to be. (Yes, I did just run up and down my steps six times in ten minutes chasing two of my cats.)

It is now Fall, and we usually try to go to Lancaster this month to buy pumpkins, mums, cornstalks and straw bales from an Amish farm to decorate our house, and also we plan a Halloween activity, such as going to a haunted house, or something similar. (There is now a new hayride where you can shoot zombies with paintball guns!) On those days I wear some warm casual clothes/boots.

This weekend we have tickets to the ballet, so I have to dress up a bit.

There are two great charity events this month, both of which I really want to attend, but they are very big bucks, so I am going to pass.  One requires cocktail dresses, and the other gowns and tuxedos (Laurel Hill Cemetery Gravedigger's Ball).

Husband usually starts skiing around Thanksgiving, and he has an annual pass for a ski resort in the Poconos.

I am already planning a cruise for next Summer.

However, the truth is I really do not need any more clothes, as my collection is quite sufficient.

Life if short, and there is so much to see, do, and enjoy!

@FancyPhillyshopper   While your at that Amish Farm take a look at the puppy mill down back.  Would never support the Amish.

@slmsia       The one I "love" the worst is THE BOARDWALK.      Do they understand that most places in the U.S. don't even have a beach????

@Desertdi They do tend to sell to where they live - the activities, the places and the weather for sure.  And we mustn't forget the theater and Disney, because we all have to go see Jane's daughters perform.

@SamBrown Really?  The Amish have puppy mills?

Your statement sounds ridiculous to me.  The Amish are a different culture, with different ways of living and doing things.  When I am [grammar check--your should be you're] at the farm, (the same one I have been going to for decades), I like to look at all the sheep strolling around, and the acres of mum flowers.

Yes, puppy mills are terrible, and PA continues to advocate against them.  One of the reason that there were issues with Amish puppy breeding is that they viewed many dogs as livestock, the same as cows, sheep, etc. One Amish lady told me they have inside dogs and outside dogs--just a different way of looking at the breeds!

However, our state is educating everybody about the rights of animals, and how to improve animal breeding and lives. They have many laws and have conducted lots of investigations.  It is a learning process!

When I young all the women wanted to buy fur coats, and hardly anyone does anymore.  Our entire country is learning!

By the way, I actually purchased my border collie from an Amish dairy farm (not a puppy mill.) His mother herds all the cows into the barn every night. My collie can run for miles, and miles; he is just full of energy like his mother.

I am sorry to say that I live in a big city and here they breed pitbulls, sometimes for fighting, which is terrible. There was even a famous football player who did this. Those are the main dogs available for adoption in all of our city shelters.  Because they are known to attack cats, I would never adopt a pit bull.

I am an animal advocate, but I am not a person who makes silly blanket statements about others.

@LorelaiGilmore @Chucklehead Agreed! Just because some are couch potatoes doesn't mean others aren't busy living active lifestyles.

@Puppy Lips   Yes, it's a bad situation.  Just google it.  It's horrific.
