Re: I cannot tolerate the avarice shown by QVC anymore!

If you want avarice (I had to look it up, too), try Louis Vuitton or Channel.  Now that is greed!

@keithsmom65-That's why there are so many places to shop! Don't understand why you feel the need to post here. Simply move on.

Avarice - such a big word to use regarding this subject.

I'm siding with the OP on this. As we all know we can all find the same brand named products sold here elsewhere for less. The products are not earmarked knockoffs either, they are the same named brands.

If shoppers choose to buy here they certainly are able to do so, however for shoppers to not shop around after they find items here for less elsewhere for me, is just plain silly (to be nice). It's not at all difficult to do. I find tons of items for much less than the price points sold here for more.

And calling it "avarice" is over the top, isn't it?

Because the free market, which is the fairest way to pick winners and losers is at work here.

Someone must want a $575 crossbody bag of a particular brand. Not I! I never in my life spent that much on a handbag even though---I could if I wanted to. To me, it's not worth the money . So I don't even look at them. Not interested.

So if someone IS interested in such a bag, then they are free to buy it. You and I are free to say, no, thanks, don't think I will. That's not avarice, that is choice.

Avarice is pushing someone into a corner to overcharge them for something or being greedy for more than you are entitled to. Offering a luxe bag is not avarice, it's catering to a particular market. It's not me nor you but apparently there are people in such a market.

If you find the prices high here, you can shop at many off label stores in your town that offer goods at cut rate prices, some of them marked down. Choice is limited but there are bargains to be had.

@Campion You seem to be 'over the top'.

There is personal satisfaction in closing an account if you are really and permanently through with something.  I once did this with a bank, and it turned out to be a very positive move.  We are treated so well at the new bank that I wonder why I ever put up with them for even one extra minute.  Just be sure you won't regret it later.

@depglassOh, I think she could close her account -  and then if she has regret, they'll take her back.  Not avarice or greed on their part -  just business.

And as long as we're playing  vocabulary games today -  I find this whole discussion a very funny example of anthropomorphizing a non-human entity.
