Re: Hosts behavior

[ Edited ]

The entire group was " out of control."  I was embarrassed for them - totally inappropriate behavior.

Hosts, vendors, models are always being criticized for giggling, talking too much, throwing merchandise, telling sad stories, wearing the wrong size  etc.  But never have I seen any of those people behave so badly and crudely as the host, vendor and models did on that recent Women in Control presentation.

I loved the show with Albany and Rene. I thought it was refreshing and hilarious.

If you just want to buy some clothes, go online and buy them without watching the video and then you won't have to worry about someone offending.

I wanted to add that it just seems like they're all trying too hard. Perhaps sales are not meeting expectations. They need to rename the brand "Women Out Of Control."

I agree!  They had each model turn around and lift their shirts up to show their butts.  And they kept saying "butts" like crazy!!

But how about the Breezies model now wearing a bra on live TV?   They used to only show pictures or mannequins!!!

I remember when they had the Cross Your Heart Bra commercials on TV and the models had to wear the bras OVER their top....LOL.  Not like today's bra ads.

Agreed. Now it has done a complete 360-degree turnaround-- almost like anything goes. I'm no prude, and l don't advocate going back to the old ways, but some standards of decorum have crossed the line, IMHO.

It seems a little undignified.   Maybe once in a show for a laugh, but really it's a bit much.

I also reacted to the WWC presentations.  Not only was there a lot of exagerated "booty" shaking, there was a lot of pointing out and touching and patting of butts going on.  I felt it was inappropriate.  I felt that the models were really pushed to the limits of decorum.  Of course they will put up with the vendors and hosts, but the scenes were , I don't know, "icky."  There's a good word for you!

It makes no sense to me to stress how great your tush will look when every model and the vendor styled the look with a top that covered the tush. This necessitated the flipping up of tops and then that prompted exaggerated backside demonstrations. I also think the forum criticism of this behavior after the previous pairing of this host and vendor may have sparked an "I'll show you" response. Some of the previous critical remarks must have been heard as the stripper music was changed several months ago. Dancing to demonstrate how comfy the pants are is fine, but keep it classy please.

I was watching a wwc presentation and Lisa R was the host and the first thing they did was play the music and all the models and Renee got down and did their sleazy dance but it wasn't until I saw Jackie get down and wiggle and jiggle that got to me where I had to change the channal.

Re: Hosts behavior

[ Edited ]

I have been with QVC for 25 years, but have not watched in almost 10 years.  There is certain vendor who used to be pleasant, then started acting up, talking non stop.  It made me so nervous I started turning the channel.  Sometimes the yakking was so bad my husband downstairs would say, "what in the heck are you watching".  So I started turning the channel. Then this vendor was on so much, darn... if every time I turned QVC on , there she was!  So the more and more I turned it off, the less I watched,  Until I was totally weaned off QVC,  I buy online when I need something.   I can hardly tell you the hosts are except the old timers.

IMO, some of the host and vendor behavior is demeaning and not appropriate to a shopping channel.  I don't want to see dances, hear the yakking about kids, vacations and such all the time.  Show me the product!  And for Gosh sakes, please let the other person finish a sentence!!

When I go online I can specifics, like measurements, fabric, and usage which is something the Hosts rarely do anymore.  They need to remember, The product is the star of the show, not the Host and vendors.  Geesh!
