Hosts ,Please ,Please, let the vendors speak

I will try to be gentle, with this.Last night I was so frustrated with the host.talking over the vendor, that when the host was speaking, which was 90% of the time I had the mute button on.I was very interested in purching the product, but the vendor, could not get a word in to explain what and how to use it.I finally turned the T.V. off. Please any host that sees this,we are not watching to hear you non stop,we are watching to hear WHY WE Need This Product.I have turned off QVC before when I cannot get information, because the host will not let the vendor speak.I love Josie and I really needed to listen to product benefits.Sorry to go on so long,I guess I am still frustrated!

Agree. I have stopped watching /buying whenever Carolyn Gracie hosts for this very reason. She does all the talking, with all the "uhs" and "ums", when I would like to hear what the vendor has to say! It is beyond annoying. Maybe she's a control freak?

Very well said and so true.  The other night I found myself actually yelling at the TV,  please shut up.  I wanted to hear what Issaic was saying.  Ended up so frustrated I turned it off and did not purchase.  Again, respectfully and gentley some of the host need to realize they are not more important than the vendor or the item being presented.  I do like it when the hosts wear the clothes being presented and not so called high fashion that is much to young for them to wear.

So true.  With Albany gone, we seldom get to hear anything about the functions of computers, phones, cameras, clothing, cosmetics.  Not only does the meaningless chatter take up the product description time, the screeching cackling drowns out any vendor's attempt to be heard.

Muting the the self centered performances doesn't help when the body language, hands on hips, pointing, sullen, defiant poses say you don't really want to hear anything they're saying anyway.

MBR did a nice job with Valerie this morning, but Jill is on with Valerie tonight.  Watch out - Jill can be a steamroller.

Re: Hosts ,Please ,Please, let the vendors speak

I'd like to add something about hosts that are constantly talking over the vendor.

I use closed captioning and I commend the individuals QVC employs for this task. They are excellent!!!
But . . . even the best transcriber has trouble getting the conversation on screen accurately when multiple people keep talking at one time, like ALL THE WAY THROUGH A SUSAN GRAVER SHOW for example.

Overlapping voices are a normal part of speech and not a problem. But there are times when hosts and vendors seem to be having a contest, as though whoever is loudest longest is the winner.

I feel like the only host that lets the venders speak is David On In The Kitchen With David.
