I also DVR the shows a week at a time. I FF through most of them....repetition of same products during the day...especially TSV. Friday Night Beauty is nothing new to look forward to...same w/ Tuesday Night Beauty. If there's a hair, makeup, or skincare product presented at midnight along w/ TSV, you can count on it being on EVERY beauty related show throughout the day. What's the point of being live tv? HSN just repeats previous shows that had same merchandise. Much more efficient use of host time to me.

I haven't bought anything from QVC in quite awhile, and I can pinpoint exactly when I decided to shop elsewhere.
It was a handbag presentation and I really liked the bag. I had my eye on a particular color, but was waiting to get a better look at it and to see the inside of the bag. There I sat, thru a pretty long presentation, and the host & vendor were chatting away about everything except the bag. Ultimately, they never did go thru the colors and they never showed the inside of the bag. I realized then that this was not the first time I had wasted my time by patiently waiting for information that never came.
Friendly chatter is fine, but not if it's so prolonged that they run out of time before describing the product they're supposed to be selling. I'm not buying something because some random host likes it or has it in every color. I'm going to buy it if it's right for ME, and I make that decision based on information about it. If I don't get that information, guess what happens? I go elsewhere.
The emphasis is on "we're all friends and isn't this fun!", but it's a shopping channel. I'm not watching to hang out with my imaginary TV girlfriends. I don't buy anything unless I know exactly what I'm getting, and QVC is the only place I run into this problem. If they're not going to describe the product, I'm not going to buy it. I don't watch QVC anymore for precisely that reason.

I've watched enough Q to know which hosts and vendors I really enjoy, and which ones really annoy; if a product line I like is being presented by one of my fave hosts, I watch the show, and order by phone if I want/need something. (Like a little kid waiting for Santa, I hopeIhopeIhope I get to talk live on-air!) If a favorite product line is being presented by a host I dislike, I quit watching but will order online. Once in a while I'll catch a half-minute of a host, thinking perhaps she's changed....nope! she's still annoying...to me. Although I don't care for some of the Q's personalities, clearly other viewers do. I WISH QVC would contact me and ask, "Why have you not purchased anything in ---- months?" I would tell them if a host bothered me enough to quit watching. However, they aren't asking so the best I can do is to let the remote be my vote.

@sallybusky My problem is when QVC has a vendor on air that is rarely shown and with something new, but paired with an annoying host, then sometimes I am stuck watching it because I want to hear the vendor and see the demonstrations which you cannot get just by reading the description for the item on the website......
If a particular host is annoying viewers and potential customers I think QVC should go over these points with the host....afterall, most employers do some sort of an evaluation it shouldn't be any different from QVC. from reading these frequent threads on the same hosts, it seems something should be done!

I agree wholeheartedly with your first paragraph and I have also found myself in the very same dilemma. It's a new product or at least new to me and I want to watch the demonstration, but alas it's paired with an annoying host.
Where I differ with you would be your second paragraph. Here is an example. JT, drives me absolutely batty. She seems like a nice enough woman. However, it's unbearable to me how she can't present any product and I do mean any product without somehow wrapping it into a story about her girls. I change the channel frequently.
Although, she drives me crazy, there are plenty of woman who love her. They love her family stories, they consider her a gusher or a sharer and it's just fine with them. Where do you draw the line? Some customers love her and others want to throw a shoe at the tv. LOL.
I am assuming that QVC must go by sales during a hosts hour to be the only true gauge of their popularity or lack of. Since there are so many likes and dislikes, it's actually a much fairer approach.

I haven't seen the three new hosts yet (other than Mary when she's with David). I hope they are better than the female hosts that have been hired in recent years. I would like to see hosts with a pleasant speaking voice with no annoying speaking habits and dressed like they're going somewhere other than the gym, the beach or out clubbing lol.

I could not agree more. The lack of professionalism in the hosts has gone so far off the radar, it really is making QVC look as if they do not have high standards for their dress codes. Hosts like M.B.R. and L.W. excluded.

@Niqui wrote:So boring hearing about their kids, their sisters, their husbands, their wives... and this is NOT about selling, because the hosts on other home shopping shows do NOT follow suit... they talk about the product, period. Some of the hosts think they are actually the owner of QVC, one in particular who went STRAIGHT to daytime, no late night shows for her EVER, had her own "show" with her name in it like IMMEDIATELY, where other hosts have to wait YEARS before they ever see the light of day... what's up with that? Here's a hint... looks so goth its just Halloween everytime she's on...
Yes the last time I saw her on, I swear I could not see the white's of her eye's, very freaky was the best way to describe the host. And could not find her lips they were so pale. YUK! Not professional at all.

@Shanus wrote:Love Alberti. No nonsense, to the point explanations of the product, a little personality thrown in, always impeccably dressed & manicured (not loving the blue, sparkly polish on hosts doing jewelry shows...distracting & IMO unprofessional. Maybe that's why new hosts pictured w/ HIM for some training.
@ShanusI wish QVC would utilize Alberti more...he posts pix of his decorating and it's wonderful...why in the world don't they give him a decorating show to show his talent and share ideas instead of the same stale stuff....innovation and creatitivity doesn't seem to be QVC's ways these days....its more like a TV summer reruns (when the show the first time around wasn't much to talk about either)....
