I wear nail tips from time to time.  I know that maintenance is hard and time consuming but, there are hosts who show jewelry when its very apparent that they need a fill or fix.  It's hard for me to watch

I see many fingernails that need filled in everywhere I go. It doesn't bother me at all.  It just looks like dumb fake nails.

I am glad I gave all that up. I just go natural now. It is way too time consuming and too much trouble as well as $$.

I noticed that quite a few QVC Host's have done the same.

Edited my response:  I remember back in the day, the hosts' nails did not take away/distract from the product.  Their nails had a 'nice clean' look....it was obvious to see.  Jill Bauer had the prettiest nails....like a white frosty color which goes with everything.....

I'm not so interested in trends in nail decor,  but the other night I caught a show with Monifa (I think it was her), and she had the weirdest manicure I've seen yet.

I'm sure it was some very intricate design, and it may have been nicer if you could detect what it was, which even up close as she was demononstrating a product, you just couldn't make out what it was.  It just looked like a mess, as if her nail polish had worn off from the cuticle area downward.  It looked splotchy and messy.

I'm sure she sat in the manicurists chair a good bit of time to get this look, but it didn't work for me.

I don't care for this kind of nail art, I don't even like the thing about one nail being a different color than the other four nails on a hand.

@baglady9  -  Amy Kestenberg was on the other night with Shawn.  There were several close ups of her fingers when she was showing a purse.  She was WAY past due for a fill.  In fact, I was surprised she went on tv with her nails looking that bad.

JMO, this is such a trivial thing. Don't watch. Watch. Whatever.

And you know this was a policy how?

If nails 'distract', I doubt I was interested in the product at all.

What 'distracts' someone, looks beautiful to someone else.

I noticed Amy’s nails as well. I like nail art & have permanent French gel & get them done every two weeks. Very intricate nails aren’t for me but I like looking at the designs but just don’t like seeing them if they are not kept up. JT went through the pointed style but her choice of colors were too bright & called attention to the fact she needed a fill in. Her nails look better now that she’s abandoned the pointed style. I do notice nails during a presentation but it does distract me from the product. Though, I don’t have pointed nails, they look nice on younger people. Courtney, Julia & Jen Coffey always have well cared for nails & Leah’s ,classic style, is always flawless. Vanessa has very interesting manicures but sometimes they need a fill in.

I can go a month between fills and wear colors that don't

show the grow out much---but have noticed that many of the ladies really don't care much about how their nails look. I am not one for the stiletto, super long, over decorated claws, but do think that hands/nails need to be taken care care of too, especially when presenting close ups of the items they sell. Can think of 1 particular host whose nails look like a little kid paints them---

Leah's nails look nice.
