Re: Host Break-In's Interruptions

@PansyBoo  @PhilaLady1

Well, I have to admit that I837514213.gifwhen earlier today Alberti busted in w/his cell phone interrupting Kim & the hostess who were showcasing Kim's pants.

Alberti's mother had texted him for him to order 2 pairs of Kim's pants for her.  Alberti  actually showed the text on camera.

He was so excited he couldn't catch his breath.  Kim & the hostess were stunned & speechless.

I wondered why his mother couldn't order the pants herself?   And who cares what his mother wears????  Then realized, she wanted her son's employee discount.173836.gif

Re: Host Break-In's Interruptions

I don't care for the interruptions at all. It's awkward for a vendor describing her clothing when the host from QVC2 comes on promoting a different line. The vendor stands there while the two hosts are chatting away. It's very rude.

Re: Host Break-In's Interruptions

I find it a bit annoying and silly.  I've noticed it's been a new thing suddenly.  I don't watch a lot of QVC but it seems to be in most shows that I do happen to watch.

I don't know for certain but it seems to me that the host 'break in' is orchestrated.  I think it is not the case that a host that interrupts just happens to be on the set and must say "hi".  It's a sales tactic to show the viewers that we are all friends here, or watch my upcoming show, or take a look at the cute outfit I am wearing so you want to buy it too.

@PhilaLady1  It is absolutely!  I find it silly...as if they just happened to be right near the set and stopped by to say hello!  LOL!...another sales tactic.

Hosts are doing what they're told to do, rude or not. You can't change it so live with it or find something else to watch or occupy your time.

p.s. I don't care for it either but I'm not going to let such a trivial thing get to me.

Re: Host Break-In's Interruptions

Everyone on that set is fully aware that the QVC 2 host will come on air to let viewers know what's being presented there.  It's about generating sales for the company, so they can all keep their jobs.

You don't see anything to buy on the main channel?  Come over to QVC 2 and spend some money.

It's been a management decision to have those QVC 2 host "drop-ins" for a while now.  That host does not appear out of a puff of smoke.  They are standing on the sideline off camera, and the vendor and host can clearly see them and know they're coming on camera any moment.

Why be upset for the vendor or main channel host?  They are completely aware of it and know that's now business as usual.

It's less than 60 seconds.  Doesn't bother me at all.

Walk-ons were done all the time years ago. The following host would give a peek of something coming up in the next show. For some reason they brought it back.

@frenchie Yes,  I remember when they would do that. What was old is new again.
