When I see host pull knit tops, pants, jumpsuits and jeans also to their max, it really makes me think that the material is cheap and has no substance to it. Most quality materials, even stretch fabrics, will not stretch to infinity and beyond.

@Styleovertrend How would you suggest the hosts demonstrate the stretchiness of the fabric?

I think it's a good idea for them to demonstrate the stretchability of the fabrics. Some "stretch" jeans get very baggy with wear, so if you see that it already has super stretch, you will most likely order a smaller size, possibly saving the need to return.
The same can be said for sweaters, blouses, etc. If a sweater has too much stretch on television, you know it's going to hang on you if you order your regular size.😊

The could put the garments on a taffy pulling machine to demonstrate the stretchability

"Takes all kind to make a horse race" as my sweet Mama used to say, I LOVE dramatic (and sometimes uproarious) stretching!!
And "You can't judge a book by it's cover", so looking at a garment hanging limp or looking at a garment stretched from here to Peoria, there's really no readily discernible relationship between its stretchability and it's value or substance, is there?
And isn't ".....Most quality materials......" judged by a TV screen being (or NOT being) "...cheap...", a bit of a
S-T-R-E-T-C-H?

I want to know how clothing will fit and wear. Stretch, crease, wad it up, pull on it, and do all the other things that will happen when an item is worn.

The stretching out to the side has never bothered me. What does bother me, and this is petty I know, is that they keep pulling down the tops every time they move an inch or more. Move an inch and they tug it down, move 2 more inches, tug it down. In real life our tops move a bit as we move and we don't grab it by the hem and pull it down every little move we make. If we buy an "as in" that a model has worn and you could xray it, it probably has fingerprints all over the hem from pulling down pulling down pulling down. Like I said....petty.

The Q is really into fabrics that stretch so I don't see them giving up the practice of "demo-stretching" any time soon.
The skinny-tees demos used to be a riot. The host and vendor used to each take an end and pull. Not sure how many of us needs a tee that stretches to six feet.

I am sure it must be a selling point but I am over too much spandex. In the end it does not add durability. A natural fiber knit is one thing, that much give is another.

I'll answer that KACHINA624, once at the start, in the middle and at the end of the presentation. It can be an annoying.
