If I hear "fabrication" one more time when "fabric" is the appropriate word, I think I'll scream! Look it up hosts, it does not mean the material a product is made from. Also, while we are at it, lets review the use of "lie" and "lay" and could we monitor the constant use of "actually". Some hosts actually use actually in almost every sentence. Actually!

Fabrication is actually a widely used term in the fashion industry.
I'm sure the Host's picked it up from the vendors, it's not like they invented it.
QVC is a home shopping channel, if I watch, I'm watching for the presentation of a product, not listening to be sure the Host's never make a grammatical or pronunciation error.
I realize that some people are really bugged by things like this, and that's OK, we all have our triggers, but, it doesn't bother me in the least.

I hear so many incorrect pronunciations of words on the Q by many hosts. I would think if you are in a public format you would strive to make sense. However, I have learned anything goes and grammar is slowly becoming a thing of the past. It is much easier to speak improper English than to try to sound professional. While I cringe when I hear certain people mispronounce words and make up their own, I just shrug it off and not let it bother me. I focus on the item and shop more and more online.

QVC seems to speak its own language.....""gifting"" was used during the holidays and now seems to be a full-fledged member of the hosts' vocabulary.....and there are too many words mispronounced by the hosts to even list them.

I think the WORST, worldwide, is everyone saying "whole 'nuther".........there is no such word as NUTHER !!!!!
"That's a whole nuther story"......,etc.
I am sick to death of hearing this over-used term. Why do people slaughter the English language?????
Last night I heard a Q host say "Jew-Ler-ry" instead of Jewelry. She presents it often. Wanted to rattle her brains out. (Even Lori Grenier says it)
Hate people who say Real-I-tors instead of Realtors, as well.
Talk about the dumbing down of America !
And PresiDENT and AmbuLANCE too !

I agree that the word "fabrication" bugs the heck out of me, as do several of the hosts' expressions. However, I can't imagine being in front of a camera and having to talk non-stop to describe products that you might, or might not, even like or understand. Considering they have to keep the air filled with words, I think the hosts do a great job. I sure couldn't do what they do!
I also assume that some of the mispronounced words are regional accents. Like, when Susan Graver says "lenth," it makes my teeth hurt!
