Too many, if not all, of t(e hosts incorrectly say “shipping and handling IS free”.  The correct grammar is “shipping and handling ARE free”. Assuming the hosts have some sort of communications or broadcasting degree, I am surprised they go uncorrected.

By the way, you have a "typo."

I like Wheat Chex the best!

Oh my goodness!  With all the different ethnicity in our country now and people and QVC employees that are from different parts of the country it is impossible to expect everyone to pronounce every word the same!  As long as we are getting the message, and I am sure most of us do, why would anyone complain?

What (or is it "which") are your favorite fruit pebbles?

SO WHAT GET A LIFE !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

My Grammar stinks so what. As long as I know what they are saying or what I'm reading I'm good.

Alot or a lot still means the same thing.

Guess you people don't have anything better to do.

Nothing ticks me off more then the Grammar Police on these Forums????????????????????????????????

I believe they are referring to shipping and handling as a single act or process, not two separate things.

They usually say shipping AND handling is free, lumping them together as one. I haven't heard them say the shipping is free but the handling is X amount of dollars; conversely, I have never heard them say the handling is free but the shipping will be X amount of dollars.

So, in this case, if I am not mistaken, how they are saying it is correct.

Perhaps an English major on our forum will respond. Smiley Happy
