I've been looking forward to some new Gauze drawstring pants for summer.  So today, there they are.  BUT NO PETITES!!!

I need a 27 1/2 to 28 inch inseam, but these are only made in a 30 inch inseam. I have too many eye issues to be able to sew anymore, and the cost of altering the length of pants here is a minimum of $17.00 per leg.  More than doubles the cost of the pants.

PLEASE, QVC, CAN'T YOU REMEMBER THAT NOT ALL OF US ARE 5'10"??

Not disagreeing with the need for more petite sizes since I wear petite but I must say I am simply astounded at the cost you,quoted to hem a simple pair of unlined pants..  My dry cleaner charges $15.00 to hem a pair of unlined pants.

There is a fusible web type tape you can buy that you iron on and can hem pants that way. Super easy! All you would probably have to do is fold up the hem once and iron them in place. It will hold for quite a long time with washing and wearing. Maybe you could try that if you only need to shorten a litte?

Probably not an option for gauze which is rather thin and flowy, it might weigh the bottom down

I have used the iron on hem tape on some very light weight pants and it worked just fine.  Did not weigh them down.

If you'll send me your address, I would be delighted to send my pants to you for hemming.  Here we are scalped for alterations.  Don't even think about lined pants!!  We're talking well over $35.00 per pair.  And thank all of you for the "iron on" suggestions, but for gauze they are definitely too heavy. I've tried that.

I can get sleeves altered on a wool jacket with lining for $20.00 and that's by a tailor.  So sorry!

@Perkup

My DC charges $9 for unlined, and $10 for lined, and that is plenty.  Try to find a seamstress  (yes) they still exsist.  They will be cheaper than your DC.

It all depends on geographics and what the traffic will bear. I sure wouldn't buy a pair of lined gauze pants that needed tailoring. There are many many online retail that carry petites.
