Please move Gamers threads off Community.

Every day more show up and they don't belong.

@occasionalrain ,  I would like to see this addressed, too.

I think it's confusing to establish a separate subforum for game threads but then have a growing proliferation of identical threads in other subforums.

Although...  food for thought:

what might at first appear as a game thread sometimes morphs into interesting discussions.😊

It can be difficult for the moderators to decide which threads should be relocated to Gamers.

I know we've been told no changes will be made to further customize the Community.  Even so, now that the Gamers subforum is no longer as busy as it used to be perhaps they should open it back up to everyone -- so all can see and participate in the activity which is hidden to all but those who have requested access.

I'd be interested to see what others have to say about this.

Anything we can do to make the Community more interesting, varied, and positive would be welcome.

Have a lovely evening and weekend, everyone!🌻

I agree.  They used to be moved to the Gamers Forum immediately but these seem to keep hanging around.

@dooBdoo   I always thought, back in the day when game forum was open to all, that the games consisted of things such as "Name XXX by alphabet".

For example, name a dog breed starting with the letter "A".

Or there might be some trivia questions.

Some of the threads in Community are simple questions-and what constitutes a "game" is subjective.

I don't consider "Name your favorite song" a game.  Some others may think it's a game but you make a good point that discussions are opened up in some of those threads.  They really are not games at that point.

So the question is-if we ask a question is it just a question or a game?

I consider a "game" as something that requires some thinking.

I agree the Gamers Forum should be reopened to all instead of having to obtain the secret handshake to get in.

If the mods are not moving those threads from Community to Gamers, either they are too busy to monitor something so trivial or they are making a judgement call.

We used to get flooded with scrapbook threads when the Q sold those items.  I think a craft forum was created after all the complaints but this was years ago.

We are so limited on what we can discuss and sometimes those threads are a break from the usual COVID, masks, vaccination, and H&M repetitious threads.

Re: Gamer Threads On Community

Making lists is not a discussion. What real difference is there between listing favorites and listing things by alphabet?

Why was the gamer thread turned into a private club? Does anyone know the reason? Seems nonsense to me.

@occasionalrain  Posted last night they didn't want the forums to be flooded with game posts. Just like the ones you asked to be moved. They were moved and now you won't see them unless you are a member of the gamers forum. Then you will see every gamers posts on these forums.

@proudlyfromNJ

I understand that. What I don't understand is the reason it's private. New posters wouldn't know they need to ask to join so they would post games on non-game forums.
