Free and fast shipping- ALWAYS

I would like to see free and fast shipping for all items every day!  If that can not be accomplished (and I don't know why it can't) - then at least the TSV should be free shipping.

Re: Free and fast shipping- ALWAYS

Today's TSV has free shipping, as does the Big Deal, which is quite nice considering the size and weight of these sets. I realize that you're just offering a suggestion, but you should know that QVC will not be offering regular free shipping anytime soon because shipping fees are a big part of the company's cost model. The Q would literally go out of business if everything shipped free all the time—or it would have to double the prices of its entire inventory, which would also likely result in bankruptcy because no one would buy items at those rates.

But I often wonder....how do so many other retailers offer products with zero shipping and handling??  And their prices are not more expensive than those that do charge S/H??  Am not talking about Amazon 's Prime, though I love that plan!!

IMO since they've acknowledged that there is a problem with the shipping, offer free shipping until the problems are corrected.  I believe that QVC makes a profit from the s/h fee but I would also think that the cost is already factored into the price of the item.  I'm assuming that their warehouse workers are pretty well paid.

@corita.  Other companies don't have the huge expense of operating several 24 hour TV stations.   QVC has a very complex, high overhead operation.

Not true.

They do not have "middle men".

They need to take in a little less profit for now and they need to start thinking about keeping the customers they still have.

But aren't the financials showing that they are not taking in high profits?  Just so curious about the entire operation.  Someone is not reading the tea leaves, nor the viewers'/customers' feedback!!!!

I don't drive too much anymore and do not go to malls nor local stores. Buying at QVC is still a Convenience for me, but am not sure about the Quality nor the Value anymore.  Other online retailers are good competition with QVC for my purchases and funds.

Excluding Amazon how many of those other retailers are selling hundreds of thousands of items a day every day?  TSVs alone often sell 60-100,000, sometimes more, in a 24 hour period.

The eyes through which you see others may be the same as how they see you.

@corita - In addition to the fact that QVC has both television operations and a retail business, as @Kachina624 mentioned, it is also important to note that shipping fees have always been a key component of the profit model. That funding source is crucial to keeping the hosts on air and the stock on the shelves. Other retailers have different business approaches, and many are able to operate within parameters that include losing some money on shipping in a few areas while being able to make up those losses in other areas.

The things that set QVC apart in the marketplace are the relationship it creates with viewers through the hosts who sell its products and its specialized live product demonstrations, so the company has to keep investing in the TV production and talent side of its business in order to not only retain that differentiation but also survive/thrive. And running live programming 24/7 on one channel and 3/4 of the day on another is no cheap or easy task—there's a reason few channels in the world offer that level of live entertainment.

@alarmclock - QVC is all about middle men! That approach is one of the reasons it is experiencing such issues with its ordering and shipping practices lately—so many of its items are stocked and sold by third parties that it has little control over processing and shipping anymore. I'm sure this strategy saves the company some money, but it's becoming more and more clear that it isn't translating into efficiency, effectiveness, or customer satisfaction.
