Well, this is a suggestion forum, so I am directing this to qvc.  I have had too many returns for fit on shoes that I have stopped buying shoes with shipping and handling charges. It's just too expensive with paying shipping and handling both ways if they don't fit or just don't work. Exchanges just have not been working. Either it takes too long, or the next size is sold out in the color you want. So, $5.50 plus 6.65 is too much to try on. Especially on something popular like a tsv where there are sell outs.

You make a good point about one of the problems ordering shoes.

Personally, I think that all TSVs should have free shipping.

Without free shipping, it kind of takes the "special" out of Today's Special Value.

I think free shipping on tsvs could backfire on us and Q would just raise the prices.

Re: Free Shipping on TSV shoes

Well, I won't be buying any more Clark's shoes anyway.

Not after having to throw out an almost new pair of clogs that I hadn't worn during our New England winter.  I know other shoes will be following that trip to the trashcan.  My DH saw them and said "Why is a new pair of shoes in the trash?"

Why?  I took out my leather clogs that I'd only worn about 3 or 4 times, to wear on a day out with a friend.  The soles were oddly sticky.  I had no idea what caused it, but thought perhaps it would go away after walking on them.

Never got that far!  As I picked one up to put it on, the top of the clog (leather) came away from the sole completely.  WTH???  (Thank goodness it didn't happen while I was out.)

I googled it and found out why.  The new polyurethane soles break down, if they're not worn regularly.  They're hydrophilic and absorb moisture, when stored.  There is nothing you can do once they start to break down.  They have to be tossed.  (Google "soles of my shoes falling apart":  the Foot Geekz has a great video on YouTube, but I can't post the link.)

Even very expensive shoes like Sanitas aren't exempt.  These soles are supposed to be "environmentally friendly".

I have quality shoes that are about 20 years old and they're still in excellent condition.  The newer ones?  Rubbish.  In this case, you don't necessarily get what you pay for.

I have been saying this for a long time.

Re: Free Shipping on TSV shoes

Funny the same exact thing happened to my Clarks which is why I will never buy them again. I had a pair of red clogs. I hadn't worn them for awhile. I picked one up and the sold detached itself from the leather. I could just put it all the way off---2 pieces, one leather piece and the other, the whole bottom. I had to throw them away too and you are right---not cheap.

Also right about having to pay nearly$12 just to try on the shoes. I always wear an 11W which is why I was buying from QVC. But when the size stays the same, yet they don't fit, it isnt right to pay to return them. They should fit ---even in the same brand. So I had enough and I don't care how cute they are. I look online to see if any other place has them. Many times they are available elsewhere cheaper shipping, and free returns.  QVC's loss not mine any longer.

@geegerbee - That's really funny - my clogs were red leather, too!

I decided to put my original post as a new thread in the "Shoes" forum, since I decided people should be warned about this.  Most of us store our off-season shoes, don't we?

Shouldn't there be a warning issued with them, if this is going to happen?  From the responses in the Shoes forum, it seems we're not alone.
